Summary: We investigated the role of XIST in gastric cancer (GC) pathogenesis. Expression levels of XIST, SOX9, and miR-30a-5p were determined using quantitative realtime polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Western blot assay measured protein levels of SOX9, β-catenin, and c-Myc. MTT and transwell assays assessed proliferation, apoptosis, and invasion. Dual-luciferase reporter assays and RNA immunoprecipitation (RIP) confirmed the interaction between miR-30a-5p and XIST or SOX9. Our study demonstrated that XIST acts as a sponge for miR-30a-5p and regulates SOX9 expression, promoting GC cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and inhibition of apoptosis through the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway.

Summary: This study investigated the molecular and functional association of long non-coding RNA XIST, miR-191-5p, and TRAF3. The results showed that downregulation of XIST and upregulation of miR-191-5p protected cardiomyocytes from hypoxia-induced cell injury by regulating the miR-191-5p/TRAF3 signaling pathway.

Summary: DLEU2 is significantly up-regulated in GC tissues and cell lines, associated with pathological grading and TNM stage of GC patients. MiR-30a-5p can directly bind to the 3' UTR region of ETS2. DLEU2 binds to miR-30a-5p to facilitate ETS2 expression.

Summary: The study demonstrated that tumor-derived exosomal circRNA_102481 may contribute to EGFR-TKIs resistance in NSCLC via the miR-30a-5p/ROR1 axis. The expression of circRNA_102481 in exosomes was associated with TNM stage, tumor differentiation status, brain metastasis, and PFS and OS duration. Exosomal circRNA_102481 could potentially serve as a novel diagnostic biomarker and therapeutic target for EGFR-TKIs resistance in NSCLC.

Summary: Findings indicate that high expression of ATG5 in lung squamous cell carcinoma patients, silencing ATG5 can reduce autophagy flux in LUSC. Furthermore, it was discovered that there is a binding sites between hsa-mir-30a-5p and 3'-UTR of ATG5, and miR-30a-5p can suppress ATG5-mediated autophagy, thus attenuating lung squamous cell carcinoma progression.

Summary: The study reveals that the expression of AL592284.1 is increased in cervical cancer, and it promotes the proliferation, migration, and invasion of cancer cells through regulating the miR-30a-5p/Vimentin axis. Inhibiting AL592284.1 may be a potential treatment strategy for cervical cancer.

Summary: High expression of CD27-AS1 in AML is associated with shorter overall survival time, its downregulation can inhibit the proliferation and induce apoptosis of AML cells, while overexpression enhances the malignant phenotype. CD27-AS1 regulates the growth of AML cells through the miR-224-5p/PBX3/MAPK signaling pathway.

Summary: OGFRP1 functions by sequestering miR-149-5p to indirectly promote upregulation of IL-6, thus increasing chemoresistance in PC cells. This OGFRP1/miR-149-5p/IL-6 axis may serve as a promising target for sensitizing and treating PC chemoresistance.

Summary: Osteosarcoma, a common disease in children and adolescents, has a low survival rate due to the lack of early detection and drug resistance. Recent studies have shown that long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) SCAMP1 plays an important role in the development of osteosarcoma. This study revealed that lncRNA SCAMP1 promotes osteosarcoma progression by modulating the miR-26a-5p/ZEB2 axis. Targeting lncRNA SCAMP1 and its downstream targets may be a promising therapeutic approach for osteosarcoma treatment.

Summary: miR-122-5p is significantly decreased in the cerebrospinal fluid of patients with intracranial infection, while the expression of IL-1 beta and TNF-alpha is increased. miR-122-5p can regulate neuroinflammation in the periventricular white matter of CLP rats by modulating lncRNA xist and PKC eta.

Summary: MiR-30a/c-5p is downregulated and associated with aggressiveness in ccRCC. Downregulation of miR-30a/c-5p is accompanied by increased promoter methylation, which can be restored by decitabine treatment. MiR-30a/c-5p not only decreases cell aggressiveness, but also upregulates epithelial markers and downregulates EMT-promoting players.

Summary: This study demonstrates that inhibition of Eln protects rat arterial smooth muscle cells from apoptosis, miR-29b-3p binds to Eln, and Xist promotes Eln expression by absorbing miR-29b-3p. Furthermore, Eln overexpression counteracts the inhibitory effect of silenced Xist on apoptosis of rat arterial smooth muscle cells. Importantly, this ceRNA network exacerbates apoptosis in human aortic smooth muscle cells.
