The verification and tuning of active sites of catalysts for electrochemical N-2 reduction is significant but remains largely unexplored. Recently in Joule, Wang and co-workers reported that the edge planes of MXene enhance the electrochemical N-2 reduction and that a much-improved selectivity can be achieved through the tuning of active sites.
