Summary: The juvenile hormone is crucial for insect reproduction, and isopentenyl pyrophosphate isomerase (IPPI) is a key enzyme in the juvenile hormone synthesis pathway. This study found that silencing the SfIPPI gene significantly inhibits the ovarian development and egg production in female adults of Sogatella furcifera (white-backed planthopper), and also inhibits the transcription of downstream genes in the juvenile hormone synthesis pathway.

Summary: This study investigated the role of Dicer2 in the regulation of molting and wing expansion in Sogatella furcifera. The results showed that the RNAi-mediated silencing of SfDicer2 led to wing deformities and lethal modifications in S. furcifera, which were caused by the inhibition of chitin synthesis and degradation and wing expansion genes.

Summary: The study identified that vSP27 of BmCPV is translated from a circular RNA and can suppress viral infection by inducing ROS generation, activating the NF-kappa B signaling pathway, and promoting the expression of antimicrobial peptides. Additionally, a nuclear protein Akirin was found to interact with vSP27, positively regulate the NF-kappa B pathway, and inhibit viral infection. These findings suggest that the BmCPV-derived circRNA-vSP27 may play a role in host immunity against BmCPV infection.

Summary: The white-backed planthopper Sogatella furcifera has developed high resistance levels to chlorpyrifos and thiamethoxam in different areas of Sichuan Province, while showing sensitivity or low resistance levels to imidacloprid and buprofezin. The overexpression of the P450 gene CYP6ER4 may contribute to the development of chlorpyrifos resistance in S. furcifera, as indicated by gene expression analysis and RNA interference experiments.

Summary: SfDicer1 is crucial for the regulation of growth, development, and reproduction in the rice pest Sogatella furcifera. It is involved in molting and reproductive processes through the formation of mature miRNA. Silencing SfDicer1 affects survival, wing development, molting, ovarian development, egg production, and gene transcription related to growth and development, making it a suitable target for RNAi-based strategies against this destructive insect pest.

Summary: In this study, Epinephelus coioides soluble TLR5 (TLR5S) was identified as a negative regulator of the NF-kappa B signaling pathway. TLR5S specifically responded to Vibrio flagellin and inhibited flagellin-induced activation of NF-kappa B signaling and cytokine expression. This discovery provides insights into the negative regulation of immune signaling and the restoration of homeostasis.

Summary: MST1/STK4 acts as a negative regulator of the TLR4-NF-kappa B signaling pathway, inhibiting TRAF6 autoubiquitination and downstream signaling, thereby limiting inflammation induced by LPS. The research also suggests that MST1/STK4 can regulate the production of proinflammatory cytokines in macrophages.
