Summary: The study investigates the association between the inflammatory potentials of diet and lifestyle and the risk of all-cause, cardiovascular disease (CVD), and cancer mortality. The findings suggest that diet and lifestyle, separately and combined, influence mortality risk through chronic systemic inflammation.

Summary: This study found that healthy scores for low-carbohydrate and low-fat diets were associated with lower all-cause mortality, while unhealthy scores were associated with higher all-cause mortality, especially among individuals with prediabetes.

Summary: Research on associations between dietary and lifestyle oxidative balance scores and mortality among women aged 55-69 found that higher anti-oxidative lifestyle scores were significantly associated with lower all-cause, all-cancer, and all-CVD mortality risk, while the associations with dietary scores were weaker.

Summary: This study found that higher dietary folate intake was associated with lower all-cause and cardiovascular mortality among individuals with type 2 diabetes. The association was observed in both men and women, with stronger associations seen in men. Increasing folate intake in the diet may reduce mortality risk in US adults with type 2 diabetes.

Summary: The study found that a healthy lower-carbohydrate-diet score was negatively associated with mortality in adults with T2D, and replacing energy from carbohydrates with plant-based protein and polyunsaturated fats may help prevent premature death among patients with T2D.

Summary: Preventive statin therapy in the elderly reduces the risk of ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and has benefits in mortality, regardless of the presence of hypercholesterolemia history. This effect persists after the age of 76 years, but the benefits are less pronounced in women.

However, engaging in physical activity 1-4 years after diagnosis is associated with improved prognosis for patients with ovarian cancer.

Summary: This study evaluated the reproducibility and validity of a food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) modified for the American Cancer Society's Cancer Prevention Study-3 (CPS-3) prospective cohort among a racially/ethnically diverse subgroup. The FFQ reproducibility and validity were comparable with similar studies for most nutrients, with slightly higher levels found among whites and slightly lower levels among blacks and Hispanics. These findings support future dietary analyses in the CPS-3 cohort and other similar cohorts.
