Summary: Chemotherapeutic agents, including cisplatin, have been shown to promote tumor metastasis by influencing the stability of beta-catenin through the key gene DCBLD2. The inhibition of DCBLD2 presents a promising treatment option for preventing chemotherapy-induced metastasis.

Summary: In this study, OSBP2 was found to be highly expressed in PDAC and its upregulation promoted the progression of PDAC, including increased cell migration, invasion, proliferation, chemotherapy resistance, and decreased apoptosis. Furthermore, overexpression of OSBP2 resulted in downregulation of the cell adhesion molecule E-cadherin and upregulation of other transcription factors. Therefore, OSBP2 may serve as a potential diagnostic and therapeutic target for PDAC.

Summary: Epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is associated with tumor aggressiveness, drug resistance, and poor survival in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and other cancers. Researchers have found that CD70 and ZEB1 play a key role in immune escape in NSCLC, providing new insights for treating NSCLC through immunotherapy strategies.

Summary: CCL20 plays a role in promoting lung adenocarcinoma progression, with high expression associated with poor prognosis and activation of EMT, inflammatory response, and TNF pathway. Knockdown of CCL20 inhibits EMT process and cell proliferation in lung adenocarcinoma. Low CCL20 expression improves response to anti-PD-L1 therapy.

Summary: This study found that the histone H2A variant H2A.Z.1 is positively associated with the progression and poor prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD). In vitro experiments demonstrated that H2A.Z.1 promotes cell migration, invasion, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, stemness, and radiation resistance in LUAD cells. Targeting H2A.Z.1 in combination with radiation therapy could be a potential therapeutic approach for radiation resistant LUAD.

Summary: For lung adenocarcinoma with EGFR-sensitive mutations, EGFR-TKI is the first-line treatment, but acquired resistance remains a problem. Reversing acquired resistance through targeting key molecules driving EMT provides an alternative for patients. This study explores the role of DCLK1 as an EMT driver gene in acquired resistance of lung adenocarcinoma to EGFR-TKIs.

Summary: In this study, a prognostic signature of nine unique EMT-related genes was established for predicting the survival of patients with LUAD. A nomogram incorporating this signature and clinical features showed a good ability to predict patient survival. This novel EMT-related gene signature provides valuable insights for clinical prognosis in LUAD.

Summary: Lung cancer is a deadly disease with a high incidence and mortality rate. The epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) process in cancer cells plays a crucial role in metastasis. Ethacrynic acid (ECA) has been found to inhibit EMT in lung cancer cells. However, the effect of ECA on immune checkpoint molecules in cancer has not been fully studied.

Summary: Tobacco, specifically nicotine, plays a significant role in the development and progression of lung cancer through the induction of epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). This study reveals the interplay between PPP1R13L and SP1 in nicotine-induced EMT, showing that PPP1R13L inhibits the transcriptional activity of SP1 while also being transcriptionally activated by SP1 in a feedback loop. The expression of PPP1R13L and SP1 is associated with the clinicopathological characteristics of lung cancer patients.
