Summary: Jordan is undergoing a nutrition transition with high rates of micronutrient deficiencies and increasing overweight and obesity rates. A community-based prevention marketing approach was used in this study to develop behavior change interventions to promote healthy eating within vulnerable communities, with insights gathered from interviews and workshops conducted with 120 people. Insights revealed the personal and emotional nature of dietary habits, as well as the influence of social norms and parental perceptions on children's nutrition. These insights were then used to co-create interventions aimed at improving school-aged children's nutrition.

Summary: Climbing the dual value chain (DVC) of parallel development in global and domestic value chains is an important channel to get rid of bottom solidification. The implementation of the Environmental Information Disclosure (EID) trial has enhanced the division position of domestic firms in DVC by weakening downstream embeddedness and increasing upstream embeddedness, leading to the transformation of these firms from low-end manufacturers to high-end designers.

Summary: The Internet of Things (IoT) is driving the next economic revolution by utilizing data and immediacy. However, the large amounts of generated data in the IoT ecosystem are often left unanalyzed. This paper proposes a novel approach using remotely virtualized GPUs to provide computing resources to low-power edge devices without compromising their power consumption. The results demonstrate significant speed-up, power consumption reduction, and energy savings, indicating the potential of this approach for efficient big data analysis in IoT infrastructures.

Summary: This paper explores the use of clustering models of stocks to improve stock price prediction and trading algorithm returns. The stocks are clustered using k-means and alternative distance metrics with quarterly financial ratios, prices, and daily returns as features. ARIMA and LSTM forecasting models are trained for each cluster to predict the daily price of each stock, and the clustering-empowered forecasting models are used to analyze trading algorithm returns.

Summary: The study focuses on integrating Indigenous knowledge into disaster management in Taiwan. It explores traditional ecological knowledge through interviews and applies a bottom-up community-based approach. The study aims to improve community disaster planning and assist communities in utilizing their knowledge and resources. Three approaches based on traditional ecological knowledge are highlighted: the natural environment, agriculture production, and social capital. These approaches can be integrated with existing disaster management to form a specific mechanism for Indigenous communities.

Summary: This study proposes two different human activity classification models that incorporate prepossessing techniques to improve radar data quality and classification accuracy. One model integrates wavelet denoising methods into a cyclostationarity-based classification model, resulting in a significant improvement. To address the limitations of conventional techniques, another model uses a deep neural network and achieves state-of-the-art accuracy for signal-level classification. These proposed models significantly reduce false detections and enable robust activity monitoring for older individuals with radar signals, bringing the system closer to practical implementation.

Summary: The continuous improvement of transportation infrastructure is crucial for achieving high-quality development. The opening of high-speed railways (HSR) in Chinese cities acts as a natural experiment that can promote industrial structure upgrading and increase social employment levels, thereby facilitating high-quality development. The intensity of environmental regulation is an important factor that affects the relationship, with different effects on the HSR's industrial and employment impacts. The findings indicate that HSR openings play a more significant role in promoting high-quality development in the eastern region and non-resource-based cities in China.

Summary: Sustainability has gained popularity in environmental management, but there is still debate over its conceptualization and implementation due to the lack of consideration for the social dimension and its interaction with the environmental and economic dimensions. The Community Capitals Framework and other asset-based approaches are effective in promoting the inclusion of multiple dimensions, but there are challenges in their practical application. These include the discordance between theoretical foundations and actual implementation, and the confusion caused by the array of terms referring to community assets. It is important to conduct community resources assessment, stakeholder consultation, and cross-silos communication efforts to develop a shared understanding and facilitate sustainable approaches to environmental management.

Summary: This study applies an innovative approach to monitor social effects of two hydroelectric dams in Canada before and during construction by analyzing community-based impact assessments (CBIA) and news coverage. The analysis reveals that while affected people focus on local social effects, decision makers are more interested in broader political perspectives. The study emphasizes the impact of political power on decision making in socially sustainable projects.
