Summary: This study aimed to investigate the potential mechanisms underlying poor-quality romantic relationships among couples from lower socioeconomic status (SES) from two perspectives: the self-protection hypothesis and social class from a cultural perspective. Using a representative sample from Turkey, the study examined the indirect effect of willingness to sacrifice on the association between SES and relationship satisfaction. The findings showed that willingness to sacrifice did not moderate the relationship between SES and relationship satisfaction, suggesting its importance for relationship satisfaction regardless of SES.

Summary: This study found that socioeconomic status influences risk prioritisation, with high SES individuals ranking hazards differently than low SES individuals. Additionally, high SES individuals were more concerned about personal security risks compared to low SES individuals. The study also revealed interactions between gender and SES in influencing risk perception for various hazards.

Summary: The study found that families affected by childhood cataract have a lower socio-economic status, and this disparity is evident even before the diagnosis of cataract. However, the diagnosis does not exacerbate the differences between these families and the background population. These results suggest that the socio-economic status and parental educational background of families with childhood cataract should be taken into account in their management.

Summary: The authors utilized data on the entire Finnish population to develop a machine learning model that predicts COVID-19 vaccination uptake. Socio-economic proxies are important predictors, and those at a higher risk of COVID-19 consequences are less likely to get vaccinated. Understanding factors associated with COVID-19 vaccination can shed light on issues in public health systems.

Summary: Family socio-economic status (SES) is significantly related to children's executive function, with higher SES associated with better performance. Parental subjective SES and children's subjective social mobility can moderate the relationship between family SES and children's executive function. High subjective social mobility or parental high subjective SES levels can weaken the relationship between SES and cognitive flexibility, acting as protective factors for children from economically disadvantaged families.

Summary: Participating in social distancing can have a positive impact on the public good affected by the perceived risk of infection and socioeconomic cost. The economic fallout of social distancing can be detrimental to vulnerable members of society, but it can also save lives by slowing down disease transmission. By combining epidemiological and evolutionary game theoretical frameworks, this study analyzes the behavior incentives in a social distancing dilemma situation and highlights the critical factors in controlling the spread of the disease in the community.

Summary: This study compared the concentration and release kinetics of osteocalcin and crestal bone loss under immediate and delayed loading conditions during osseointegration. The results showed that immediate loading group had less crestal bone loss and early release of osteocalcin. This suggests that immediately loaded implants can improve bone metabolism and prognosis of implants.
