Summary: The study aims to evaluate metabolic parameters before treatment, determine the correlation between metabolic and dietary parameters and the severity of acne before treatment, assess the severity of acne before and after treatment, and evaluate the relationship between the difference in acne severity before and after treatment and factors of dairy or sweets intake. Results show that LDL levels and consumption of sweets are correlated with acne severity. Contraceptive treatment is the mainstay of acne treatment, and the effectiveness of the three contraceptive-based treatments is confirmed by observing the severity of acne. There are no significant correlations between the difference in acne severity before and after treatment with the three treatments and factors of dairy or sweet consumption.

Summary: Acne and rosacea present differently in individuals with skin of colour (SOC) compared to other racial and ethnic groups, with complications such as hyperpigmentation and keloid scarring in acne and difficulty in discerning erythema in rosacea. Clinicians need to carefully consider treatment options and may need additional clues from medical history and clinical examination to diagnose rosacea in individuals with darker skin tones.

Summary: With the increasing use of commercial ear molding products, there has been a significant increase in literature addressing the indications and timing of perinatal intervention in auricular deformations and malformations. The reason for perinatal ear molding seems to be hormonally mediated, but the common belief that breastfeeding may lengthen the window of effective intervention lacks convincing evidence. This review discusses the common auricular anomalies, as well as the indications, timing, and methods of effective intervention, including ear molding or surgical otoplasty.
