Summary: Tendinopathy is a disease caused by the degeneration of tendon tissue, and currently, there is no treatment available to prevent or delay its progression. Recent research suggests that MSCs-derived exosomes (MSCs-exos) may be useful for promoting tendon healing and could be considered as a potential treatment for tendinopathy.

Summary: Neurodegenerative diseases, currently lacking effective treatments, can potentially be treated using mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). These cells secrete neurotrophic molecules through extracellular vesicles (EVs) which have therapeutic potential due to their innate properties and ability to reach the central nervous system. This review explores the use of MSC-EVs in treating neurodegenerative diseases, discussing strategies to enhance their effects and highlighting intranasal delivery as a minimally invasive option. The current progress and limitations of MSC-EV treatment for human neurodegenerative diseases are also reviewed.

Summary: Neuroinflammation plays a crucial role in neurological disorders, and mesenchymal stem cells can modulate inflammation and microglia/macrophage polarization through exosome secretion. Studies have shown that miRNAs contained in exosomes have the potential to impact recipient cell behavior, providing a novel therapeutic approach for addressing inflammatory pathways in neurological diseases.

Summary: This article summarizes that mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are a potent therapeutic strategy for repairing cardiac injury, but recent studies show that MSCs cannot survive in the heart for a long time. Consequently, the exosomes secreted by MSCs may play a dominant role in the repair of heart injury, promoting the restoration of cardiac cells, vascular proliferation, and immune regulation. The article also summarizes the current research on the acting mechanism, application prospects, and challenges of exosomes, including non-coding RNA, in repairing cardiac injuries.

Summary: This study highlights the key role of sEV miR-486-5p in promoting cardiac angiogenesis. miR-486-5p acts on the fibroblastic MMP19-VEGFA signaling pathway to promote cardiac recovery. Delivery of miR-486-5p-engineered sEVs safely enhanced angiogenesis and cardiac function in a nonhuman primate (NHP) MI model, potentially promoting cardiac repair.

Summary: Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are shown to have great potential in treating diseases through the secretion of exosomes, which are believed to be more effective than the cells themselves. Alternative approaches using MSC-derived exosomes offer promise in overcoming limitations in cell-based therapy. MSC-derived exosomes have significant therapeutic potential and are promising in regenerative medicine.

Summary: This study analyzed the effectiveness of carotid endarterectomy and carotid artery stent placement in patients with symptomatic carotid near-occlusion and identified factors related to technical failure, periprocedural complications, and restenosis. The results showed that both procedures had high rates of failure and periprocedural stroke. The study also found that carotid near-occlusion with full collapse was associated with an increased risk of technical failure and restenosis. The revascularization of carotid near-occlusion did not seem to reduce the risk of stroke compared with medical treatment.
