Summary: This study found that decreased expression of CD146 in pulmonary tissues is associated with increased inflammatory response in pulmonary cryptococcosis. Furthermore, CD146 deficiency worsens the infection by C. neoformans.

Summary: This study investigated the role of interferon regulatory factor 4 (IRF4) and IRF5 in microglia and monocytes in cerebral ischemia. The findings suggest that the central IRF4/5 signaling pathway plays a critical role in cerebral ischemia and can affect microglial activation and stroke outcomes.

Summary: Defects in muscle mitochondrial OxPhos promote bone marrow inflammation in mice, leading to decreased bone mass. Muscle mitochondrial dysfunction is linked to bone marrow inflammatory cytokine secretion via the CXCL12-CXCR4 signaling axis, which is critical for inducing low bone mass.

Summary: BMAT is now recognized as a metabolically active organ that plays versatile roles in endocrine function, hematopoiesis, bone homeostasis, and metabolism. Age-related inflammatory changes associated with BMAT accrual and the downstream effect on endocrine function, energy expenditure, and metabolism are discussed, with potential therapeutic strategies addressed to prevent dysfunction during aging. Further research is needed to fully understand the explicit characterization of BMAT in aging.

Summary: The study demonstrates the significant role of CD200 in atherosclerosis, where CD200 deficiency increases atherosclerotic lesion formation. The CD200/CD200R pathway restrains macrophage activation and monocyte recruitment, limiting the progression of atherosclerosis.

Summary: Stroke is a major cause of death and disability worldwide, and current treatment options are limited. Bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (BMSCs) offer a new approach for stroke treatment, but research on the precise inflammatory mechanism is lacking. In this review, we summarize the immune response of BMSCs in stroke treatment and provide a new perspective for stem cell therapy.

Summary: Research has shown that during a high-fat diet, deficiency of the mannose receptor affects bone marrow and circulating immune cell subsets, leading to reduced systemic inflammation and resistance to obesity development.

Summary: NK cells are innate lymphocytes that play a crucial role in immune defense and cancer therapy. Their development in the bone marrow and migration to peripheral organs are regulated by key factors and influenced by inflammatory contexts. This review summarizes the stages of NK cell development and discusses newly discovered factors involved in their maturation.

Summary: Targeting the interaction between leukemic cells and the microenvironment by inhibiting CD38 has the potential to enhance therapeutic efficacy in AML. However, while the anti-CD38 antibody daratumumab showed significant cytostatic efficacy in an in vitro model, it ultimately lacked robust anti-leukemic effects in vivo in a xenograft transplantation model.

Summary: This article summarizes the current understanding of how hematopoietic stem cell functions are maintained, damaged, or exhausted during acute, prolonged, and pathological inflammatory conditions. It also highlights the impact of inflammation-altered hematopoietic stem cell niche on escalating the insults on hematopoietic stem cells.

Summary: Elevated levels of sB7H3 and B7H3(+) cells in blood samples of IPF patients were found to be negatively correlated with lung function decline. sB7H3 was shown to induce the influx of MDSCs into lung tissue and enhance inflammation, as well as cause the accumulation of MDSCs in the bone marrow.

Summary: Under inflammatory conditions, steady-state hematopoiesis switches to emergency myelopoiesis, leading to different forms of cell death and other changes in the hematopoietic system, ultimately causing loss of hematopoiesis function. In individuals with inherited bone marrow failure syndromes or immune-mediated aplastic anemia, chronic inflammatory signals may aggravate disease progression.
