Summary: This study investigated the diagnostic efficacy of radiologists when reading screening mammograms without previous images (NP), with prior images from the same vendor (SP), and from different vendors (DP). The results showed that radiologists had higher sensitivity in NP and DP compared to SP, as well as higher ROC AUC values. The odds ratio of true positive for NP and DP was also higher than SP, indicating improved cancer detection. Radiologists were more likely to detect architectural distortion and calcifications in DP compared to SP. These findings suggest the importance of a mixed reading strategy to enhance diagnostic accuracy in the digital era.

Summary: This study presents the experience of using a homemade DMS system in a university hospital, which allows for management of patient dose data and comparison with diagnostic reference levels. The benefits of the system include automatic recording and management of patient doses, creation of dose reports, high dose alerts, and help in defining optimization actions, but it requires external support from medical physicists.
