Summary: This study investigates the impact of the whole chain development of intellectual property on different types of manufacturing firm performance through a panel regression model of listed manufacturing firms from 2010 to 2020. The results show that the whole chain development of intellectual property has a positive effect on manufacturing firm performance, with the strongest effect from intellectual property services, followed by intellectual property utilization and creation. There is a significant lag in the effect of intellectual property management, and a significantly negative relationship between intellectual property protection and manufacturing firm performance. The study also finds that the effect of the whole chain development of intellectual property varies among different types of manufacturing firms, with smaller, non-state-owned, and medium-high-technology firms benefiting more than larger, state-owned, and low-technology firms. The findings contribute to the understanding of intellectual property and firm performance, and have implications for government authorities in optimizing the strategic layout of intellectual property development and promoting the resolution of internal management issues in manufacturing firms.

Summary: This paper examines the relationship between proprietary information leakage, intellectual property protection, and accounting transparency based on data from A-share listed manufacturing companies (2019-2021). The findings reveal that firms with a higher risk of R & D information leakage tend to have lower accounting transparency as managers aim to safeguard proprietary information and their interests. Moreover, in regions with stronger intellectual property protection, there is an increased incentive for management to reduce accounting transparency in order to protect proprietary information. The level of intellectual property protection significantly affects corporate accounting information disclosure.

Summary: Using China's staggered intellectual property pilot and demonstration city (IPPDC) policy and the difference-in-differences method, this study evaluates the impact of intellectual property (IP) protection on corporate innovation. The policy significantly boosts corporate innovation investment and quality by strengthening IP administrative enforcement. Financial innovation mitigates information asymmetry and negative spillovers, promoting the technological development of treated firms. IP pledge financing helps treated firms fund innovation activities by substituting high-failure-tolerance institutional investors. This study reveals the effect of IP protection on corporate innovation, providing insights for emerging economies to formulate public policies and finance systems for innovation-driven development.
