Summary: This study developed an AGREE II extension specifically designed for the appraisal of surgical intervention guidelines. The extension includes several key features prioritized by stakeholders, such as guideline protocol development, consideration of practice variability and surgical expertise, and specification of infrastructures for implementing recommendations. The AGREE-S-AGREE II extension instrument has 25 items organized into 6 domains. It can be used to assess the methodological and reporting quality of surgical intervention guidelines.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic led to the suspension of in-person education in K-12 schools across the United States, posing challenges for teachers, students, and parents in transitioning to remote education. With limited federal guidance, collaborations between physicians and school leaders at local levels were developed to find solutions. This article highlights the lessons learned and collaboration among 4 academic-community partnerships, which provided national leadership in managing COVID-19 mitigation in K-12 settings. Additionally, a pathway forward for utilizing academic-community partnerships to enhance child health is proposed.
