Summary: Based on panel data analysis of 4660 firms across 79 countries over 15 years, this study finds that firm effects have the greatest influence on firms' CO2 emissions (32.8% of total variance), surpassing industry (30.6%), country (29.3%), and country-industry effects (4.0%). These results highlight the importance of promoting proactive environmental practices within firms, in addition to focusing on environmental regulation and technological development in public policy for a low-carbon future. The implications of these findings should be considered by agents shaping business beliefs and management training, as well as international organizations advocating for decarbonization.

Summary: Climate services are tools or products to support climate-informed decision making for adaptation to climate change. The market is mainly dominated by public institutions, but efforts have been made to increase private enterprise involvement. The business model perspective is proposed to drive market growth, yet there is a lack of structured knowledge on approaching climate service design and development from a business model standpoint.

Summary: The study found that fishing industry perspectives on sea-level rise risk and adaptation in three Florida coastal communities vary across sectors and communities, influenced strongly by experience, community dynamics, and age. Older fishers are less willing to relocate due to social factors like place attachment, while younger fishers are more likely to retreat or work from a less vulnerable location. These findings suggest that adaptation responses are mediated by age, attachment to place, and worldviews, and need to be considered when crafting adaptation strategies across coastal communities.

Summary: This study comprehensively evaluates the impact of ocean acidification on calcifiers, finding that many calcifiers have strong tolerance to future ocean acidification and their adaptability has been underestimated. It is suggested that future research should focus on how marine organisms survive in an ocean acidification environment.

Summary: Climate change impacts in the Himalayan region, especially in the Indian Himalayan region, have been the focus of increasing research in recent years. Studies have shown that the temperature increase in the Himalayas is higher than the global average, leading to various impacts on water resources, glaciers, agriculture, and biodiversity. With higher altitude areas warming at faster rates, glacier retreat, erratic rainfall, and frequent drought spells are common indicators of climate change in the Himalayan region.

Summary: This study systematically reviewed the impact of climate change on major staple crop yields in West Africa and analyzed the potential of common agricultural adaptation strategies. The results showed that crop yields declined by a median of 6% due to climate change in all scenarios analyzed. However, by adopting adaptation strategies such as optimized planting dates and resilient crop varieties, crop yields affected by climate change could be increased by 13%. Increased fertilizer use did not mitigate the impact of climate change on crops but could substantially increase yields. The study suggests that a combination of increased fertilizer use and adopting cropping practices that take advantage of favorable climate conditions has great potential to protect and enhance future crop production in West Africa.

Summary: The study found significant differences in Australian newspaper coverage on the health impacts of bushfire smoke pollution and the role of climate change in increasing bushfire risk. While there was a temporary surge in articles during the 2019/2020 Black Summer bushfires, most articles only provided general statements on health impacts and had limited coverage on climate change. More detailed communication strategies are recommended to enhance public preparedness for future impacts.

Summary: The study investigates the relationship between corporate green commitment and stock price crash risk, using Chinese listed firms as the research setting. The results show that solid green commitment significantly reduces stock price crash risk, especially in non-state-owned firms and during a downturn in the stock market. The study also finds that the mediating effects of institutional investors and media transmit the impact of green commitment onto price crash risk.

Summary: This paper provides a systematic review of academic and practitioner-oriented literature on FinTech. The review shows that practitioner-oriented literature anticipated the rise of FinTech by reporting extensively on algorithm-based and electronic trading as well as FinTech start-ups and funding successes. Academic literature on FinTech emerged later, focusing on its development after the global financial crisis, followed by research on FinTech innovations and risk and regulatory issues. Work in the Information Systems field related to FinTech is still limited. The review highlights opportunities for future research, including financial inclusion, the impacts of COVID-19, and the emergence of new business models such as Banking as a Service (BaaS).
