Summary: As new information technologies enable the production and dissemination of broadcast media, entertainment-education interventions are increasingly used to influence audience attitudes on various issues. These interventions primarily work by observing behavior examples and linking desired behaviors with existing goals to catalyze behavior change. The effectiveness of broadcast media in behavior change lies in connecting desired behaviors with pre-existing goals, rather than persuading individuals to adopt new goals.

Summary: Understanding human behavior is crucial for effective interventions in promoting proenvironmental behavior change. This systematic review assessed the effectiveness of nonpecuniary and nonregulatory interventions in changing environmental behavior. Education, prompts, and feedback interventions had a positive impact, and combining multiple interventions was most effective.

Summary: The decision-making process of evacuation is influenced by the locations of family and friends, with evacuees planning to travel shorter distances when their social network is closer. Unsupported evacuees tend to travel twice as far as supported evacuees, showing the significance of social support in evacuation decision-making.

Summary: This scoping review aims to identify interventions, programs, or methods used by child welfare services to strengthen supportive networks for care leavers, and finds that there is limited research in this area. More research on social support interventions within a child welfare context is needed.

Summary: Conservationists can use social network analysis to target individuals for interventions effectively, leading to greater dissemination of information and behavior change. However, it may not be cost-effective for small interventions. Using network data to inform rules-of-thumb can boost intervention effectiveness.

Summary: The study found that consumer resistance to sustainability interventions is not because consumers are unwilling to change individual behaviors, but because the interventions overly focus on individual behaviors and ignore the dynamic influences of social practices, disrupting the multiple practices that shape consumers' lives. Therefore, an effective way to reduce consumer resistance is to focus on social practices as a whole when designing and managing sustainability initiatives.

Summary: Although deviations occur between the planned and measured alignment of a shield tunneling machine, previous studies have been unable to automatically calculate the optimal operation parameters. This study proposes the use of machine learning to develop an autopilot model that can automatically calculate optimal operation parameters for both straight and curved sections of the tunnel. The model utilizes support vector regression and successfully predicts excavation accuracy equivalent to or better than that of a skilled operator.

Summary: Plastic pollution is a significant challenge, and current policies have focused on plastic bags while neglecting produce bags. We conducted an experiment with 12 behavioral interventions to reduce produce bag use, and each intervention successfully reduced usage by 9.2% to 48.7% compared to the control group. The most effective interventions included indirect incentives or punishments, reminding people of the positive consequences, normative messaging, drawing attention to the no bag option, and reminding the negative consequences. These interventions had varying effects on different political affiliations. This study provides new evidence for effective interventions to reduce plastic pollution through decreased produce bag use.

Summary: The concern-behavior gap in addressing climate change is explained by low cooperation beliefs and lack of trust in others' energy conservation behavior, despite individuals' reported levels of energy conservation in Europe. Trust in others plays a crucial role in fostering pro-environmental behavior and attempts to save energy.
