Summary: The detection of SARS-CoV-1 was achieved using SPR biosensor and impedance spectrometry with screened Fv-antibodies. Two Fv-variants (clones) with specific affinity to SARS-CoV-1 were identified and named Anti-SP1 and Anti-SP2. The binding affinities of these Fv-variants were analyzed and their binding constants (KD) were estimated. The expressed Fv-antibodies, including fusion proteins with GFP, were also tested for their binding affinities to the SP. The feasibility of detecting SARS-CoV-1 using immobilized Fv-antibodies was demonstrated.

Summary: The dynamic interplay between nanotechnology and immunoassay has led to the development of a novel immunosensor using carbon dots for the detection of the disease biomarker VEGF. Carbon dots synthesized from a biogenic source were conjugated with a detection antibody and used as fluorescent labels. The immunosensor showed a wide linear range and low detection limit, demonstrating the potential of carbon dots as fluorescent labels in immunoassay techniques.

Summary: Periodically excessive use of pesticides in agricultural production has led to ecotoxicity and environmental pollution. Biosensing technique is a complementary tool to classical chromatographic methods for rapid, in situ analysis. Screen-printed electrode (SPE) is a widely used method for pesticides detection due to its low cost, easy integration, versatility, and portability. This review provides an overview of the screen-printing technique and SPE, including their definition, preparation procedure, advantages, and discusses the utilization of SPE in detecting pesticides using various bioreceptors and nanomaterials. The sensing principles, analytical performance, advantages, and shortcomings of SPE-based sensors are summarized, and the current challenges and future directions for SPE and SPE-based electrochemical sensors for pollutants are outlined.
