Summary: This study compared the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profiles of epinephrine delivered through manual intramuscular injection, autoinjectors, and intranasal spray. The results showed that intranasal delivery of epinephrine using neffy increased systolic blood pressure more efficiently than manual intramuscular injection and epinephrine autoinjectors, despite lower maximum plasma concentrations.

Summary: Intraocular pressure reduction regimens for glaucoma often involve eye drops, which have limitations such as short residence time and reduced patient compliance. In situ gelling nanofiber films were developed for ocular delivery of timolol maleate, showing sustained IOP-lowering effects and improved drug release compared to conventional eye drops.

Summary: This study developed and evaluated sustained-release long-acting oral nanocomposite in-situ gelling films of resveratrol for treating colorectal cancer. The optimized formulation showed high encapsulation efficiency and controlled drug release, exhibiting concentration-dependent cytotoxicity and enhanced apoptotic activity against colorectal cancer cells. These results suggest that long-acting Rv nanocomposite gels could be a promising agent for colorectal cancer treatment.

Summary: In this study, dried powder form of nanodiamonds with controlled particle size was developed for pulmonary delivery of chemotherapeutic agents. Addition of mannitol in the nanospray-drying process prevented the aggregation of nanodiamonds, and the resulting microparticles exhibited optimal aerodynamic size for pulmonary delivery. In vitro and in vivo studies showed that nanodiamonds embedded in mannitol microspheres could efficiently deliver drugs to lung cancer cells with limited systemic circulation.

Summary: This study successfully developed MEL-loaded polymeric nanocapsules (MEL-PNCs) and investigated their potential in neuroprotection in a rat model of cerebral ischemia reperfusion injury. The MEL-PNCs showed good drug release and permeation properties, and demonstrated a significant reduction in oxidative stress and inflammation caused by cerebral ischemia, leading to the restoration of hippocampal neurons.

Summary: Malnutrition and low dietary protein intake can lead to peripheral and central hyperammonemia, particularly in pediatrics. Curcumin and resveratrol have shown effectiveness against liver and brain injuries, but their bioavailability is low. This study investigated the use of a nanoemulsion formulation containing both curcumin and resveratrol in ameliorating protein-deficient diet-induced hyperammonemia in rats. The results demonstrated that the nanoemulsion effectively reduced ammonia levels, oxidative damage, and improved cellular energy performance in the liver and brain.
