摘要

Many amines are liquid and their handling is inconvenient compared with the corresponding solids. We transformed a liquid (S)-(-)-1-phenylethylamine 1 to the corresponding neutral solid form 2 by reacting with carbon dioxide. We performed reductive amination of 2 with various aldehydes 3 under solvent-free conditions to provide secondary amines 5 in high yields.

Efficient and selective approach to biomass-based amine by reductive amination of furfural using Ru catalyst

Summary: A powerful and practical approach to biomass-based amine, reductive amination of furfural (1a) to furfurylamine (2a), was developed using Ru catalyst (Ru/BNC) supported on boron/nitrogen co-doped carbon (BNC) with hydrous hydrazine (N2H4·H2O) as a nitrogen source and hydrazone as an intermediate. The Ru/BNC catalyst exhibited high efficiency and selectivity in promoting 1a/N2H4-to-2a transformation with a yield exceeding 99%.

Summary: Alpha-chiral primary amines are widely used in pharmaceutical molecules and provide a quick way to construct molecular complexity. However, there are few asymmetric chemo-catalytic reactions for directly preparing chiral primary amines. Ammonium salt-catalyzed asymmetric reductive amination (ARA) can directly yield chiral primary amines from prochiral ketones, but this reaction faces several challenges.

Switching Selectivity in Copper-Catalyzed Transfer Hydrogenation of Nitriles to Primary Amine-Boranes and Secondary Amines under Mild Conditions

Summary: A new synthetic method for the selective transfer hydrogenation of nitriles to primary amine-boranes and secondary amines has been developed. The method demonstrates high selectivity and yields up to 95%, and has been successfully applied in the synthesis of N-15 labeled compounds with an 89% yield.

One-Pot Catalytic Conversion of Lignin-Derivable Guaiacols and Syringols to Cyclohexylamines

Summary: Cyclic primary amines are important building blocks in many chemicals and pharmaceuticals. A powerful catalytic strategy was developed to convert guaiacol into cyclohexylamine with high yield. The method can also be applied to other types of guaiacols. It was found that crude bio-oil from birch lignocellulose can be transformed into a product mixture rich in 4-propylcyclohexylamine.

Integration of solid acid catalyst and ceramic membrane to boost amine-based CO2 desorption

Summary: This study reports the integration of a solid acid catalyst (HZSM-5) with a vapor permeable-liquid impermeable tubular alpha-Al2O3 ceramic membrane for boosting CO2 desorption from aqueous MEA solution. The results demonstrate that the HZSM-5 filled alpha-Al2O3 ceramic membrane contactor exhibits high CO2 desorption performance and long-term stability.

Stereoselective Synthesis of Structurally Diverse (S)-Lactams via an Engineered Amine Dehydrogenase

Summary: Optically pure lactams have a wide range of applications, including the synthesis of agricultural bioactive compounds and pharmaceuticals. This study presents a two-step chemo-enzymatic strategy for the efficient stereoselective synthesis of chiral lactams using a natural amine dehydrogenase that has been engineered through directed evolution. The engineered enzyme showed improved activity and high stereoselectivity in the synthesis of gamma- and delta- lactams, indicating its potential as an efficient biocatalyst for the production of valuable chiral lactams.

Evaluating CO2 Desorption Activity of Tri-Solvent MEA plus EAE plus AMP with Various Commercial Solid Acid Catalysts

Summary: This study found that the combination of blended amine with solid acid catalysts is an effective solution for reducing the energy cost of CO2 desorption in the amine scrubbing process. Among the different combinations tested, the 0.2 + 1 + 3 mol/L MEA + EAE + AMP with HND-8 catalyst demonstrated the best performance, providing an energy-efficient solution for CO2 absorption and desorption in industrial CO2 capture pilot plants.

The CO2 desorption analysis of tri-solvent MEA plus BEA plus DEEA with several commercial solid acid catalysts

Summary: The experiments found that two tri-solvent concentrations (0.3+2+2 and 0.5+2+2) combined with different catalysts can achieve CO2 desorption at low temperatures. The combination of 0.3+2+2 and HND-8 demonstrated superior CO2 desorption performance at very low operation temperatures.
