Summary: This study aimed to review perioperative quality improvement (QI) interventions in low/middle-income countries (LMICs), evaluate their implementation mechanisms, and identify factors contributing to successful scale-up. The study found that while many QI interventions were implemented, there were few reports of successful scale-up from single to multiple-site implementation. Greater use of implementation science methodology may help identify effective interventions and factors for successful implementation.

Summary: Remote patient monitoring (RPM) has the potential to reduce acute care use for patients with cardiovascular disease and COPD, with mixed results in other disease conditions. Further analysis is needed to understand the variation in RPM interventions across different populations and disease conditions. Additional studies are required to determine the overall effectiveness of RPM in reducing acute hospital usage.

Summary: This review evaluates the efficacy and safety of antifungal agents for the treatment of candidemia. The results show that echinocandins are recommended as first-line treatments, with caspofungin and micafungin having the highest response rates. Rezafungin shows potential as a novel echinocandin and azoles and liposomal amphotericin B can be used as second-line treatments.
