Summary: This study investigated the structural and transcriptome changes of mammary gland tissue in nonlactating dairy goats during late lactation, the dry period, and late gestation. The results showed significant structural changes and cell apoptosis in the mammary gland tissue. Transcriptome analysis identified 1,381 genes with differential expression at the three developmental stages. Genes related to cell growth, apoptosis, immunity, nutrient transport, synthesis, and metabolism exhibited adaptive transcriptional changes.

Summary: This study identified and analyzed key genes with m(6)A modification during mammary gland development and lactation in dairy goats using MeRIP-seq and RNA-seq techniques. The results showed extensive m(6)A methylation in mammary tissues, and these methylated genes were mainly involved in the growth and apoptosis of mammary epithelial cells through signaling pathways, such as the MAPK and phospholipase D pathways, affecting the development and lactation of mammary gland.

Summary: ADIPOR1 plays a central role in regulating milk fat metabolism by influencing the transcription of genes such as SREBF1, ACACA, FASN, SCD, ATGL, and HSL in goat mammary gland. Overexpression and knockdown of ADIPOR1 resulted in significant changes in the expression levels of these genes, demonstrating its crucial role in the process. Additionally, treatment with AdipoRon led to a significant increase in the mRNA expression of most genes related to milk fat metabolism in GMECs.

Summary: This study discovered the occurrence of ferroptosis in the mammary glands of Holstein cows with clinical mastitis. Differentially expressed proteins associated with iron homeostasis and apoptosis were identified, with heme oxygenase-1 (HMOX1) and ferritin heavy chain 1 (FTH1) playing crucial roles. The expression levels of HMOX1 and FTH1 were significantly up-regulated in mammary epithelial cells (MECs) compared to healthy cows, and LPS induction further increased their expression levels and iron accumulation. These findings provide insights for the prevention and treatment of clinical mastitis in dairy animals mediated by ferroptosis.

Summary: This work demonstrates gigahertz wideband acoustic delay lines (ADLs) with record-breaking propagation-Q using a thin-film X-cut lithium niobate on silicon carbide (LiNbO3-on-SiC) platform. With the help of SiC's high bulkwave velocity and excellent mechanical Q, the SH-SAW excited by unidirectional transducers propagates in LiNbO3-on-SiC's top surface with low acoustic loss. The fabricated ADLs show scalable center frequencies, wide fractional bandwidth, and a record-high propagation-Q, indicating the great potential of the LiNbO3-on-SiC acoustic platform for signal processing applications.

Summary: Three copper(II) complexes were synthesized and characterized, and their interactions with HS-DNA/BSA were investigated. The complexes were found to interact with HS-DNA via an intercalative mode and quench the intrinsic fluorescence of BSA through a static mechanism. The fluorescence data indicated that the complexes exhibited good binding affinity to BSA, with only one available binding site. The complexes displayed cytotoxicity against tumor cells and induced apoptosis in MCF-7 and HeLa cells.

Summary: In this study, a method to reduce acoustic energy loss and demonstrate GHz ultra-high Q acoustic wave resonators based on the LTOSiC substrate has been proposed. By modulating the ratio of the LiTaO3 film thickness to interdigital transducer pitch, the adjoined polarization components of the guided SH-SAW can be diminished, reducing the acoustic energy loss effectively. The modulated dispersive SH-SAW resonator shows excellent Bode-Q and FoM values, indicating the feasibility of developing low-loss acoustic devices for wireless communications on the LTOSiC substrate.

Summary: This study found that BCL-XL is a potential therapeutic target in gastric cancer. Selective BCL-XL inhibitors and VHL-based PROTAC BCL-XL can effectively kill gastric cancer cells that rely on BCL-XL for survival. However, copy number variations of BCL2L1 cannot reliably predict BCL-XL expression, but the BCL-XL protein level can serve as a useful biomarker for predicting the sensitivity of gastric cancer cells to BCL-XL-targeting compounds.

Summary: This article introduces the high-performance shear horizontal surface acoustic wave (SH-SAW) and longitudinal leaky SAW (LL-SAW) devices using Lithium Tantalate (LiTaO3) thin films on silicon carbide (SiC) substrate. The demonstrated LTOSiC hetero-substrate achieved exciting results on device frequency, quality factor (Q), temperature coefficient of frequency (TCF), and thermal transport properties. The resonators show scalable resonances and the filters exhibit desirable center frequencies, insertion loss, and out-of-band rejection. Overall, LTOSiC serves as an advanced material platform for acoustic devices in the 5G-frequency range 1 (5G-FR1) bands.

Summary: This work presents a MEMS filter utilising a first-order antisymmetric Lamb wave (A1) mode with a fractional bandwidth (FBW) exceeding 24%. The A1 mode resonators, based on locally thinned 128 degrees Y-cut lithium niobate (LiNbO3) films, demonstrate excellent effective electromechanical coupling coefficients (k(eff)(2)) of 43.6% and 39.8% for series and shunt resonators, respectively, enabling the realization of ultrawideband RF acoustic filters. The fabricated A1 mode filter, with a center frequency of 1.79 GHz, achieves a minimum insertion loss of 0.61 dB and a maximum 3-dB FBW of 24.6%. After further optimizations, these A1 mode filters have great potential as broadband acoustic-only filters for 5G New Radio bands.
