Summary: PET/MR provides accurate evaluation of cardiovascular morphology, function, and multi-parametric tissue characterization in cardiotoxicity. The composite imaging parameters from PET/MR may outperform single parameters/modality in assessing and predicting cardiotoxicity severity and progression, but clinical investigations are needed. A heterogeneity map of PET and CMR parameters may serve as a promising marker of cardiotoxicity, while the validity and value of PET/MR in cancer patients treated with chemotherapy and/or radiation still needs to be assessed. The multi-parametric imaging approach with PET/MR is likely to set new standards in the assessment and characterization of cardiotoxicity, enabling timely and personalized treatment intervention for myocardial recovery and improved clinical outcome in high-risk patients.

Summary: This study conducted a diagnostic meta-analysis to evaluate the performance of [F-18]FDG PET/MR in M staging of [F-18]FDG-avid cancer entities. The results showed that [F-18]FDG PET/MR is highly accurate in detecting distant metastasis and has high sensitivity and specificity in various malignancy types. These findings provide clinicians and patients with confidence in the performance of [F-18]FDG PET/MR in clinical practice.

Summary: This study proposed a new method based on deep learning to generate synthetic attenuation-corrected PET and T1-weighted MR images directly, reducing the frequency of additional anatomical imaging scans during PET imaging and potentially improving doctors' clinical diagnosis efficiency.

Summary: FET PET and DSC-PWI are non-invasive predictors for glioma grades and IDH mutation status. The combination of CBV with FET PET can improve the differentiation of IDH-mutated astrocytomas and IDH-wildtype glioblastomas.

Summary: The study demonstrates that 18F-FCH PET/MR is highly effective in preoperatively localizing parathyroid adenomas, even when 18F-FCH PET/CT is negative. Neck MR alone is insufficient in detecting parathyroid adenomas, but combining PET/MR helps in precise localization.

Summary: In this prospective study, [Ga-68]Pentixafor-PET showed higher sensitivity and detection rates compared to [F-18]FDG-PET in patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), indicating that it may be a potential alternative for imaging in these patients. The study also found that SUVs and TBRs were significantly higher for [Ga-68]Pentixafor-PET, with the most notable difference observed in mean TBRblood values.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of myocardial inflammation on myocardial blood flow (MBF) using 13N-ammonia positron emission tomography myocardial perfusion imaging (PET-MPI) in patients with a history of myocarditis. The results showed that patients with healed myocarditis had higher stress MBF, myocardial flow reserve (MFR), and ammonia washout compared to remote segments. Additionally, some patients were diagnosed with myocardial scar by PET-MPI without corresponding late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) on cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR).

Summary: The recent introduction of hybrid positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance imaging (PET/MRI) as a promising imaging modality for breast cancer assessment has sparked extensive research on its clinical applications. This state-of-the-art review provides an overview of advanced MRI techniques, PET tracers, and the use of radiomics and artificial intelligence techniques in hybrid breast PET/MRI. The strengths and limitations of hybrid PET/MRI in the real world are also discussed.

Summary: Combined assessment of Ga-68-PSMA-11 PET/MRI improves tumor localization in men with biochemical recurrence. The MRI detected local recurrence of PCa more often whereas (68) Ga-PSMA-11 PET detected lymph node metastases more often, especially for PSA < 1.69 ng/mL.

Summary: The combination of [F-18]FDG PET/MRI and MEG in localizing the EZ in TLE patients showed higher concordance with surgical resection compared to PET/MRI or MEG alone. Lobar localization was clearly defined in majority of patients by [F-18]FDG PET/MRI/MEG. The results of PET/MRI/MEG in concordance with surgical outcome were found to be superior to PET/MRI or MEG alone.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effect of gadolinium-based contrast agents (GBCAs) on the standardized uptake value (SUV) quantification of FDG uptake in invasive breast cancer and normal tissues using simultaneous PET/MR. The results showed that GBCAs do not significantly impact PET quantification. However, GBCAs may still affect quantification by affecting MR acquisitions used for MR-based attenuation correction.

Summary: The study demonstrated that FDG-PET/MRI had higher sensitivity and visual scores compared to FDG-PET/CT and standalone MRI in patients with epilepsy, leading to improved diagnostic accuracy in detecting the epileptogenic zone (EZ). EZs were histopathologically confirmed through surgical resection, with common pathologies including hippocampal sclerosis, gliosis, focal cortical dysplasia, and brain tumors. FDG-PET/MRI showed significant improvement over FDG-PET/CT and standalone MRI, increasing visual scores and enhancing detection of EZs.

Summary: Computed Tomography (CT) has greatly enhanced external radiotherapy by allowing visualization and segmentation of tumors and organs in three dimensions. However, limitations exist, particularly in tumor characterization and delineation. By combining CT with functional and anatomical images such as Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in a trimodality PET/CT/MRI, these limitations can be overcome. This approach, which requires specialized equipment and precise alignment, can have significant clinical impact and good agreement among healthcare professionals.

Summary: This study evaluated the accuracy of [F-18]-FDG PET/MRI in preoperative localization and postsurgical prediction for refractory epilepsy patients. The results showed significant structural abnormalities in the MR portion and hypometabolism in the PET portion of the PET/MRI, suggesting a high sensitivity for detecting possible epileptic foci.
