Summary: This systematic review aimed to evaluate the certainty of evidence for digital versus conventional, face-to-face physiotherapy assessment of musculoskeletal disorders. The validity and reliability of digital physiotherapy assessments were found to be acceptable to excellent for several assessment components. Digital physiotherapy assessment may be a viable alternative to face-to-face assessment for patients who can benefit from the convenience and accessibility of remote access.

Summary: Researchers found that the complexity of xylem network organization is related to plant evolution and drought resistance. Incremental changes in the morphology of xylem network organization allow plants to gradually enhance their drought resistance.

Summary: Difficulty remembering faces and names is common, especially as we age. The hippocampus plays a key role in reducing interference and enabling us to distinguish similar experiences. Aging is associated with deficits in hippocampal pattern separation, which affects memory. A face-name mnemonic discrimination task with varying levels of interference and naturalistic face stimuli provides a more nuanced approach to understanding age-related memory changes.

Summary: Digitalizing the preoperative assessment clinic can meet the growing demand for surgery. This study compared the impact of digital preoperative assessment and face-to-face consultations on the quality of recovery and mental state of patients, showing no difference in low to moderate risk surgery patients. Digital preoperative screening has the potential to reduce physician workload, reallocate healthcare resources, and lower healthcare costs.

Summary: This scoping review summarizes the adequate quantitative/morphometric parameters of polymeric nerve guide conduits (NGCs) that provide a supportive environment for nerve regeneration. Optimal morphometric characteristics, such as wall thickness, fiber size, pore size, and porosity, are identified to enhance nerve regeneration and reduce the need for experimental studies.

Summary: Developmental topographical disorientation (DTD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impaired navigational skills without brain damage. This case report of a 22-year-old woman named LISA revealed deficits in spatial tasks and face recognition, with MRI and diffusion tensor imaging showing structural connectivity deficits. This case supports the existence of different DTD subtypes and emphasizes the need for a comprehensive examination of cognitive maps and face recognition in individuals with DTD.

Summary: This survey provides an overview of the literature on face image quality assessment, focusing on visible wavelength face image input. The trend towards deep learning-based methods is observed, along with the integration of quality assessment into face recognition models. The paper also discusses the various application scenarios for face image quality assessment and highlights open issues and challenges, including the importance of comparability for algorithm evaluations and the need for interpretable deep learning approaches.

Summary: This study investigated the effect of modality (online vs. face-to-face) on attentional performance using the Continuous Visual Attention Test (CVAT). The results showed that assessment modality did not influence attention performance, whether comparing between different individuals or within the same individual. The variable VRT was found to have high reliability.

Summary: This study compared academic achievement of online exams and classroom exams, finding that online exams resulted in grades 10% higher. The study also found that online exams had similar levels of reliability and validity as traditional exams, and students reported similar levels of stress, difficulty, and perception of fairness compared to classroom exams.

Summary: This article presents a case of Takayasu arteritis (TAK) associated with vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (vEDS), resulting in multiple arterial aneurysms and stenosis leading to multi-organ infarction. The patient was successfully treated using anti-inflammatory agents, glucocorticoids, tocilizumab, and interventional radiology. The importance of considering concurrent vasculitis syndrome and non-inflammatory vasculopathy, including hereditary disorders, in cases with multiple aneurysms, stenosis, and dissections leading to multi-organ infarctions is emphasized.
