Summary: This study discusses the host-plant associations and various structural characters of the 38 species of Odontothrips. An illustrated key to the 9 species found in Iran is provided. Two new species from Iran, O. bezii sp. n. and O. pitkini sp. n., are described based on specimens found on flowers of Fabaceae. O. bezii is closely related to O. mongolicus, and O. pitkini is the second species in the genus with a tooth on the distal inner side of antennal segment II.

Summary: A new species, Nandithrips niveae sp. n., is described from Southern China. Nandithrips is a genus in the Thripinae subfamily that is characterized by the absence of ocellar setae I and II, the absence of posteromarginal comb medially on the female's abdominal tergite VIII, and the presence of an oval pore plate on the male's sternite II. This new species has a sharply bicolored body, in contrast to the uniformly golden yellow type species. Both species are only found in flowers of plants in the Urticaceae family.
