Summary: Castrate resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) refers to the continued progression of prostate cancer in an environment with very low serum testosterone concentration. The current definition is outdated and needs to be updated with more accurate imaging modalities and biochemical measurements to assess clinical progression and the castration environment.

Summary: This study evaluates the association between preoperative FSH levels and long-term cardiovascular and oncologic outcomes in men with prostate cancer. The findings suggest that FSH levels are not significantly associated with oncologic outcomes or predictors of long-term cardiovascular risk in these patients.

Summary: This study evaluated the safety and functional impacts of testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) in prostate cancer patients after robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP). The results showed that TRT did not significantly affect biochemical recurrence (BCR) but led to improvements in sexual health and serum testosterone levels.

Summary: The association between endogenous testosterone density and prostate cancer aggressiveness was tested in patients undergoing radical prostatectomy. Higher levels of abnormal endogenous testosterone were associated with increased risk of prostate cancer invasion.

Summary: This study reveals that some men have enriched levels of testosterone (T) in the prostate region, which is associated with higher rates of prostate cancer recurrence. These findings suggest that the role of local androgen delivery in prostate cancer has been underestimated.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between testosterone levels and PSA levels during ADT and its impact on clinical outcomes. The results showed that testosterone levels had a smaller prognostic effect compared to PSA levels on outcomes. Specifically, there was no significant association between the cumulative testosterone exposure and outcomes.

Summary: Biochemical recurrence after radical prostatectomy is common in intermediate-risk and high-risk prostate cancer patients. The optimal management includes a comprehensive evaluation with novel techniques like PET imaging and genomic analysis, along with consideration of traditional clinical variables. Salvage radiotherapy is the only known curative intervention for these patients without metastatic disease, but the importance of accurate timing, radiation dose, and systemic therapy must be emphasized.

Summary: This study found a significant correlation between serum testosterone levels and ISUP grade groups, as well as age and PSA levels. Patients with low testosterone levels had significantly decreased biochemical recurrence-free survival. Testosterone was found to outperform PSA in predicting unfavorable disease and was identified as an independent risk factor for biochemical recurrence.

Summary: This study compared the effectiveness of supervised exercise before and after prostatectomy in men with prostate cancer. The results showed that prehabilitation exercise improved muscle strength and function before surgery, while rehabilitation exercise post-surgery helped in recouping strength and function. The study suggests that engaging in exercise before surgery is beneficial for men undergoing prostatectomy.

Summary: Examining racial disparities in prostate cancer survival among White, Black, Hispanic, and Asian American and Pacific Islander patients, the study found that education, median household income, and insurance status were the most significant factors contributing to the racial disparity. Adjustments for various clinical factors and factors related to access to care showed a decrease in survival disparity for Black patients and an increase for Asian American and Pacific Islander patients in comparison to White patients.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical impact of robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP) on health outcomes in Korean patients with prostate cancer (PCa). The study found that RARP had a higher risk of overall mortality within 3 and 12 months compared to radical prostatectomy (RP). The RARP group in hospitals with the largest PCa surgery volume had higher mortality rates and more surgical complications than the total RARP patients. The study suggests that RARP may not be superior to RP, possibly due to increased robotic surgery in the elderly.

Summary: This study examined the correlation between perioperative testosterone levels and genomic risk scores in men undergoing radical prostatectomy. It found that there was no clinical correlation between pre-defined genomic risk score groups and testosterone groups, suggesting a limited role of endogenous testosterone in the development of de novo high-risk localized prostate cancer.
