Summary: Cervical adenocarcinoma patients present with early clinicopathological features and have 5-year and 10-year survival rates of 74.47% and 70.00% respectively. Married status, surgery, and chemotherapy are favorable prognostic indicators, while age, tumor grade, tumor size, FIGO stage, and pelvic lymph node metastasis are unfavorable prognostic factors.

Summary: This study retrospectively reviewed 81 patients with multifocal hepatocellular carcinoma who underwent combined hepatectomy and microwave ablation, finding an overall survival rate of 54% at 5 years. The major complication rate post-surgery was 10%, with certain factors like des-gamma-carboxy prothrombin level and tumor characteristics identified as independent risk factors for survival outcomes. The study concludes that the combined procedure is safe and feasible for selected patients with multifocal HCC.

Summary: This study explored the clinicopathological characteristics, survival outcomes, and prognosis of very young gastric cancer (GC) patients. The results showed that very young GC patients were predominantly female, with diffuse and poorly differentiated types, and most patients were diagnosed at an advanced stage. The common sites of metastasis were the ovary and peritoneum. TNM stage and radical surgery were identified as independent prognostic factors for the overall survival of very young GC patients.

Summary: This study assessed the outcomes of repeated hepatectomy (RH) for postoperative intrahepatic recurrence of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) among patients undergoing initial hepatectomy (IH). Results showed that RH had better efficacy for HCC recurrence in IH patients, and age ≥ 50 years, Child-Pugh class A, and negative HBV-DNA were independent risk factors for the 1-year postoperative tumor-free survival rate in recurrent HCC patients undergoing RH.

Summary: The study found that RAE1 is highly expressed in HCC tissues and is associated with pathological characteristics and prognosis of HCC. RAE1 expression level can accurately distinguish tumor tissues from normal tissues. RAE1 is closely related to key protein-protein interactions involved in cell division and mitotic checkpoint, suggesting it as a potential therapeutic target for HCC.

Summary: In addition to conventional prognostic factors, several other prognostic factors have been identified in post-hepatectomy patients with SRHCC, which may provide clinical reference for stratifying patients with different therapeutic regimens.

Summary: This study aims to investigate the clinical and pathological criteria of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), update the morpho-molecular classifications, and provide a diagnostic guide. Through analysis of 530 HCC cases, it was found that hepatitis C virus is still the main cause of HCC in Egypt, and HCC treated with direct-acting antiviral agents shows a more aggressive course compared to interferon-related HCC. Age, gender, alpha-fetoprotein level, tumor size, and background liver were identified as important prognostic parameters.

Summary: This study investigated the value of MRI features in predicting the recurrence-free survival and overall survival of HCC patients. Tumor size, multiple tumors, rim arterial phase hyperenhancement, iron sparing, tumor growth pattern, and gastroesophageal varices were associated with both early recurrence-free survival and overall survival. Nonperipheral washout, markedly low apparent diffusion coefficient value, intratumoral arteries, and width of the main portal vein specifically predicted early recurrence-free survival, while the VICT2 trait specifically predicted overall survival. Multiple tumors and radiologically-evident cirrhosis were the only predictors for late recurrence-free survival.

Summary: This study evaluated the predictive role of preoperative serum levels of AFP and CA19-9 on the prognosis of HCC patients after hepatectomy. The results showed that the combination of serum AFP and CA19-9 levels can serve as a useful prognostic marker for HCC patients after hepatectomy.

Summary: This study retrospectively investigated 151 elderly patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) who underwent hepatectomy and found that preoperative and intraoperative factors including Child-Pugh grade, alpha-fetoprotein value, resection style, and intraoperative blood loss were independent predictors of long-term prognosis in elderly patients with HCC.

Summary: Primary gallbladder neuroendocrine carcinomas (GB-NEC) are malignant neoplasms that require further study. This study aimed to summarize the clinicopathological characteristics, effective treatments, and prognostic factors for patients with GB-NEC. The study included 15 patients from Shanghai Jiao Tong University Affiliated Sixth People's Hospital and Renji Hospital, School of Medicine, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and 47 patients from previous studies. Surgical resection, specifically R-0 resection, was associated with significantly longer overall survival for GB-NEC patients. Patients aged 60 years or older, with carcinoid syndrome, and non-R-0 resection were independently associated with reduced survival.

Summary: Lymphocyte-rich hepatocellular carcinoma (LR-HCC) is a newly proposed subtype of HCC characterized by abundant lymphocyte infiltration. This study analyzed 451 surgically resected HCC cases and found no significant differences in clinicopathological characteristics between LR-HCC and non-LR-HCC, except for gross and microscopic features. The high expression of CCL20 in LR-HCC may contribute to the infiltration of CD8-positive lymphocytes.

Summary: This study analyzed the clinicopathological features, management, and prognostic factors of pulmonary pleomorphic carcinoma (PPC). The results showed that PPC mostly occurred in white people, with men being more susceptible to the disease. Surgery and chemotherapy had a positive impact on the overall survival of patients, while radiation did not have a significant effect on survival in different stages of the disease.

Summary: The change of PALBI grade plays a critical role in evaluating liver function and predicting patient outcomes after hepatectomy, with worse PALBI grade negatively impacting recurrence and overall survival in HCC patients. A prognostic model incorporating the change of PALBI grade could be useful in predicting outcomes following hepatectomy.
