Summary: Cyberspace opens up new opportunities for crime, which may be linked to the personality traits of offenders. This study compares the personality characteristics of 261 suspects of cyber-dependent crime, 260 suspects of offline crime, and a community sample of 512 participants. The results show that cyber offenders score lower in extraversion and higher in conscientiousness and openness to experience compared to offline offenders. Cyber offenders are more similar to community participants on these personality domains.

Summary: The study found that the VRAG-R performs well in predicting violent recidivism in young offenders, while symptoms of ADHD can provide additional validity in predicting general recidivism. Therefore, emphasizing the treatment of ADHD symptoms in the juvenile justice system is crucial for successful long-term risk management in adolescents and young adults.

Summary: The study found that there are more similarities than differences between female and male white-collar inmates in terms of misconduct and recidivism, especially when compared to females and males incarcerated for non-white-collar offenses. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed, along with future research directions related to gendered pathways in the criminal justice system and white-collar crime literature.

Summary: This study compared schema therapy with treatment-as-usual for violent offenders with personality disorders and found that schema therapy was more effective in facilitating rehabilitation and reducing PD symptoms. These findings challenge the pessimistic views on the treatability of this population and highlight the importance of long-term psychotherapy in their rehabilitation.

Summary: This study proposed and analyzed the psychometric properties of the PREVI-A scale, examining its factorial structure, reliability, evidence of validity, and diagnostic performance in assessing recidivism risk in juvenile offenders. The sample consisted of 212 juvenile offenders from detention centers run by the Madrid Agency for Reeducation and Reintegration of Juvenile Offenders. Statistical analyses were used to confirm the theoretical factorial structure of the PREVI-A and provide empirical support for its reliability and validity as a tool for assessing recidivism risk in juvenile offenders in Spain.

Summary: This study investigates the association between intellectual disability (ID) and criminal recidivism among individuals sentenced to forensic psychiatric care. The results show that offenders with ID have a lower risk of recidivism, but the presence of concurrent ADHD increases the risk of recidivism among ID offenders. Previous criminal convictions strongly predict recidivism among ID offenders.

Summary: This paper examines a probation program in Cologne, Germany, which focuses on rehabilitation and provides intensified personal support to serious juvenile offenders. The program's impact on recidivism is evaluated through a small-scale randomized trial and a regression discontinuity design. The results indicate that the program effectively reduces recidivism, with the effect lasting for at least 3 years. The evidence suggests that the drop in recidivism is most significant among less severe offenders.

Summary: This article synthesizes and critically evaluates the scientific literature on psychosexual functioning of individuals with neurodiversity, specifically focusing on autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The studies reviewed suggest poorer psychosexual functioning for individuals with ASD or ADHD compared to neurotypical peers, with more pronounced effects observed in females. Future research is needed to clarify the mechanisms behind these adverse outcomes and identify interventions that can improve psychosexual functioning.
