Summary: This study investigates the impact of flash droughts on ecosystems in Europe using observational data. It finds that rapid onset of drought negatively affects vegetation and carbon uptake, particularly in arid regions. However, vegetation in humid regions is less severely affected due to quicker soil moisture recovery. The study also shows that soil moisture status before drought onset significantly influences the timing and degree of vegetation stress.

Summary: Research has shown that levels of the Dark Triad vary across sex and age, with males and younger people reporting higher scores. It has also been found that the Dark Triad is associated with personal economic status. The study investigates whether sex and age differences in the Dark Triad vary across countries with different socioeconomic conditions, and whether these traits predicted personal income to different extents across countries.

Summary: Firms adjust capital structures to avoid financial distress and bankruptcy, and Asian firms have different financial patterns compared to their USA and European counterparts. The moderation model is used to understand the relationship between variables, and we tested the moderating roles of life cycle stages and gross national income per capita on the speed of adjustment towards target capital structures of Asian manufacturing firms. Our findings suggest that life cycle stages have a positive moderating impact, while gross national income per capita does not significantly affect capital structure adjustment. Considering the firms' life cycle stages and per capita income in international investment portfolios is recommended.

Summary: The study focuses on designing and evaluating a framework for tracking the phenology of vegetation using Sentinel-2 imagery and various ground observations. Different vegetation indices were tested for their capability to track seasonal trajectories of GPP and GCC, with the plant phenology index performing the best for GPP phenology.

Summary: This study, based on the theory of planned behavior (TPB), explored the behavioral mechanisms underlying home quarantine and found the moderating role of nationality in the relationship between attitude and intention and perceived behavioral control and intention. The findings not only expand the application of TPB but also provide insights for infectious disease mitigation in public health policy.

Summary: This study investigates the uncertainties in gross primary production (GPP) and the contributions of climate factors to interannual variation (IAV) of GPP in the forest ecosystem of Southwest China. The results show that precipitation plays a dominant role in the IAV of GPP during the growing season, and the availability and applicability of GPP products can be used to assess GPP uncertainties and analyze the contributions of climate factors.

Summary: This prospective study demonstrates the feasibility and effectiveness of HCT with an MMUD using post-transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy), suggesting that this approach may significantly expand access to HCT, particularly for ethnic minorities. The primary endpoint of 1-year overall survival was met with a high success rate, and there were no significant differences in overall survival when compared to other mismatched HCT controls.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate known risk factors for BMI deterioration in children from perinatal to adolescence. Prospective data analysis from the Feel4Diabetes-study involving 12,211 children showed that maternal overweight/obesity before pregnancy, early introduction of solid foods, parental current BMI status, and country economic classification were significantly associated with higher odds for children's BMI deterioration. Perinatal risk factors were no longer significant after adjusting for additional variables.

Summary: To improve the resilience of farming communities in the environmentally unsustainable Aral Sea region, crop diversification is proposed to enable farmers to grow high-value competitive crops and obtain more stable farm incomes. The study findings suggest that proper crop diversification strategies need to be developed in the Aral Sea region to improve the sustainability of farming systems with enhanced resilience to devastating environmental and climate challenges.

Summary: This study tracked the emotions experienced by blood donors during the donation process and found that trajectories of low/increasing joy and calm and high/decreasing stress were associated with lower probability of return, while trajectories of medium-high/increasing joy, high calm, and low/decreasing stress were associated with a greater probability of return. The research suggests the development of emotion-focused interventions to boost donor retention.
