Summary: As life expectancy increases for cancer patients, survivorship has become a crucial aspect of breast cancer care. Adequate contraceptive counseling is important for premenopausal breast cancer patients who do not wish to become pregnant. This study examined contraceptive use and methods in early breast cancer patients and identified factors associated with contraceptive use over time. The findings highlight the importance of raising awareness and providing targeted contraceptive counseling for premenopausal women with early breast cancer.

Summary: This study found that personality characteristics have an impact on the long-term well-being and health-related quality of life (HrQoL) of breast cancer survivors. It also revealed that temperament and character affect the dimensions of HrQoL through pain-related and psychological factors in these survivors. These findings have important implications for clinical interventions and effective pain management to enhance the psychosocial well-being and HrQoL of breast cancer survivors.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of an interdisciplinary intervention on the quality of life (QoL) of breast cancer survivors (BCS) and identify variables associated with improvements in QoL. In a non-randomised quasi-experimental design, 60 BCS were assigned to an interdisciplinary experimental group (EG) or a usual care group (CG). The results showed that patients receiving the interdisciplinary intervention had significant improvements in QoL and symptoms of anxiety and depression. The study suggests that a 6-week interdisciplinary intervention can improve the QoL and symptomatology of anxiety and depression in BCS patients.

Summary: This study compared the effectiveness of radical prostatectomy, brachytherapy, and external radiotherapy at ten years of follow-up. The findings showed that brachytherapy and external radiotherapy were not associated with decreased overall survival but had higher risk of biochemical recurrence compared to radical prostatectomy. External radiotherapy also had higher prostate cancer-specific mortality. These results provide valuable information for clinical decision-making.
