Summary: The study revealed that in hypothyroid fetuses, plasma concentrations of ACTH and cortisol were decreased. Additionally, the mass of corticotrophs in the anterior pituitary gland of thyroid-deficient fetuses was unexpectedly increased, while the mass of the adrenal zones was decreased. These structural changes were associated with lower expression of key steroidogenic enzymes and growth factors in the adrenal glands.

Summary: This study found that high maternal adverse childhood experiences (ACE) were associated with fetal adrenal development, but only in males. This observation extends preclinical research and suggests that gestational stress may have dysmasculinizing effects on offspring outcomes.

Summary: This case-control study compared the fetal adrenal gland (FAG) size and middle adrenal artery (MAA) Doppler parameters between pregnant women recovered from COVID-19 and a healthy control group. The results showed that the COVID-19 group had significantly higher TAG height, FZ length and width, and MAA-PSV, and significantly lower MAA-PI compared to the control group.

Summary: This study assessed the feasibility of using spectral CT-derived extracellular volume (ECV) to differentiate aldosterone-producing nodules (APN) from nonfunctioning adrenal nodules (NFN). The results showed that the ECV fraction can effectively differentiate APN from NFN.

Summary: The renal pelvis urobiome of unilateral kidney stone patients was profiled using 2bRAD-M, and microbial differences between the stone side and the non-stone side were explored. The study found that the microbial community composition was similar between the stone side and the non-stone side, but there were some differences in specific microbial taxa. A random forest classifier was also constructed to distinguish between the stone side and the non-stone side.

Summary: With the advancement of prenatal examination technology, an increasing number of fetuses are being diagnosed with ovarian masses. This study analyzed the postnatal data and clinical outcomes of fetuses diagnosed with ovarian masses, and explored the postpartum intervention measures and timing for these children. The results showed that children diagnosed with ovarian masses prenatally generally have a good prognosis, and treatment plans should be developed based on the overall condition of the child.

Summary: The study investigated the value of CT-based volumetric indicators, including L/Rv and L - Rv, in the diagnosis of unilateral primary aldosteronism (UPA). The results showed that L/Rv and L - Rv performed well in predicting UPA. The combination of these indicators may serve as a potential indicator for guiding surgical decision making in centers without AVS programs.

Summary: Renal cortical thickness (RCT) is correlated with renal function, and the RCT:Ao ratio is constant in normal dogs. This study investigated differences between actual RCT and predicted value of RCT considering physical factors in dogs with renal disease, and demonstrated the usefulness of RCT and Ao ratio index for evaluating renal pathology.

Summary: Suboptimal nutrition during pregnancy is recognized as a significant modifiable factor in the development of chronic diseases in offspring. The study found that dietary intake of pregnant Indigenous Australian women did not meet national guidelines and that maternal nutrition during pregnancy can impact fetal growth but not fetal kidney growth. Urgent strategies are needed to support and optimize nutrient intake in Indigenous pregnant women.

Summary: This study presented two cases of fetal physiological uterine effusion and one case of pathological uterine effusion, aiming to identify strategies to reduce misdiagnosis. Prenatal ultrasonography plays an important role in diagnosing and differentiating between physiological and pathological fetal uterine effusion.
