Summary: In this study, it was found that Dendrobine (DEN) inhibits chondrocyte senescence and osteoarthritis (OA) progression by promoting extracellular matrix synthesis, inhibiting extracellular matrix degradation, reducing expression of inflammatory and senescence factors, improving mitochondrial function, reducing reactive oxygen species production, and suppressing NF-kappa B pathway activation. Furthermore, in vivo experiments demonstrated that DEN alleviated cartilage inflammation, extracellular matrix degradation, and subchondral alterations in OA progression. Therefore, DEN provides an innovative strategy for the treatment of OA through the regulation of the ROS/NF-kappa B axis.
