Summary: This study investigated the factors associated with timeliness of care in the healthcare seeking pathway among lung cancer patients in Bangladesh. Data was collected from 418 patients through face-to-face interviews using a structured questionnaire. The results showed that higher education and income levels were associated with shorter intervals, while consulting informal healthcare providers and multiple providers were associated with longer intervals.

Summary: This systematic review compared virtual care with in-person care for cancer patients, finding that virtual care is equivalent to in-person care in the fields of psychological and genetic counseling. However, there is limited data regarding clinical outcomes and supportive care. Future research should focus on assessing the role of virtual care in these areas.

Summary: This review systematically examined the literature on taste and smell alterations (TSAs) in lung cancer (LC) patients, proposing a combination of taste and smell training, personalized dietary counseling, and oral zinc-based solutions during treatment to potentially prevent and ameliorate treatment-induced dysgeusia. However, due to study heterogeneity, caution is advised when interpreting the results. Developing standardized TSA measurement tools and conducting prospective randomized controlled trials are recommended for future research.

Summary: Lung cancer is a significant burden globally, with late-stage diagnosis and low survival rates posing challenges. Interest in noninvasively collected samples and metabolomics as a growing area of study for lung cancer is increasing. More consistent and systematized studies are needed to identify metabolic biomarkers and pathways associated with tumor progression, relapse, and therapy resistance.
