Summary: A series of quinazoline-4 (3H)-one-tagged triazole conjugates were synthesized using the CuAAC methodology and characterized by various spectroscopic techniques. The antibacterial activities of these compounds against gram-negative strains were evaluated and compared with commercial drugs. SAR analysis demonstrated that the incorporation of a triazole ring significantly enhanced the antibacterial activity, while the position and nature of substituents on the phenyl ring of the triazole ring played important roles in modulating the activity of the conjugates. Molecular docking studies revealed the binding characteristics of these compounds in the DNA gyrase binding site of Staphylococcus aureus.

Metal complexes derived from 2-((4-oxopentan-2-ylidene)amino)benzoic acid (H2L) with Co(II), Zn(II), Cu(II), and Ni(II) were isolated and characterized. The synthesized compounds displayed good agreement between their HOMO-LUMO energy gap (AEH-L) calculated using DFT and their experimentally determined optical band gap (Eg). The Ni(II) and Zn(II) complexes showed the highest antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Vibrio cholerae, Aspergillus Niger, and Aspergillus flavus.

Summary: This study describes the syntheses of 16 vanadium(IV and V) complexes with ONO tridentate Schiff base ligands, with vanadium(IV) compounds synthesized using 1,10-phenantroline as a co-ligand. In the case of five complexes of vanadium(V), solvent molecules in the form of ethanol or ethoxy ligands fill the coordination sphere of V(V) to six. The crystal structures of selected complexes show a mixture of isomers in 1:1 ratio in the unit cell due to the asymmetry of the ligand forming both 5- and 6-membered rings in the complex.

Summary: A specific copolymerization method was used to integrate 2,4-dihydroxyoxazole monomer into the carbon nitride framework, forming the composite material xCN/DHO. This composite material exhibits a sophisticated dual-phase photocatalytic activity, capable of both reducing and oxidizing CO2 and NO2 in aqueous solutions, as well as oxidizing olefins in organic states. The lipophilicity elevation of the olefins is attributed to the presence of DHO within the CN semiconductor shell, which allows the olefin molecules to be escorted into the bulk of CN and associated with the oxidation of *OH radicals. The copolymerized CN shows the greatest reduction/oxidation potential and superior overall performance under solar irradiation.
