Conditions milder than those previously reported are shown to be generally applicable to the Pt-catalyzed insertion of non-carbonyl-stabilized diazoalkanes into B(2)pin(2). Selective transformation of one (pinacolato)boryl unit in the products is enabled by rapid, low-temperature deboronation in the presence of a Lewis base and genesis of a highly reactive B-stabilized carbanion. Summary: Protein homeostasis plays a critical role in maintaining cellular functions and plant interactions with the environment, particularly in response to stress signals and pathogens. Study of thimet oligopeptidases TOP1 and TOP2 in Arabidopsis revealed their involvement in processes beyond defense signaling.

Summary: In this study, the histological and chemical structures of anthocyanins associated with different leaf color patterns in the terrestrial orchid Tipularia discolor were characterized, revealing that different colors in leaves were a result of the anthocyanins being located in different anatomical positions. This highlights the importance of both phylogenetic inertia and natural selection in determining anthocyanin chemical structure and anatomical location in plants.

Summary: This study demonstrates the antibacterial activity of Atr-DEF2(G39-C54) against two Gram-negative human bacterial pathogens, with proteomic changes in E. coli indicating membrane lysis as an important mechanism of action. Additionally, the study highlights the potential multifaceted mechanism of action of plant defensin analogs beyond membrane disruption, including metal sequestration as a contributing factor.

Summary: The study found that LAT1 is the primary transporter of BCAA in skeletal muscle, and JPH203 (JPH) is its inhibitor. The results showed that treatment with 1μM JPH increased mitochondrial metabolism and content, and reduced extracellular leucine and valine. However, treatment with 2μM JPH suppressed insulin signaling and increased extracellular accumulation of isoleucine without affecting BCAA metabolic genes.

Pyrrolidine-based C1-symmetric chiral transition metal complexes as catalysts in the asymmetric organic transformations

Geeta Devi Yadav, Pooja Chaudhary, Balaram Pani, Surendra Singh

Summary: Chiral transition metal complexes with privileged ligands are efficient catalysts for various asymmetric organic transformations. Transition metal complexes of C1-symmetric pyrrolidine-based ligands have been widely used in asymmetric organic reactions. However, a comprehensive review article on the transition metal complexes of chiral C1-symmetric pyrrolidine-based ligands derived from (L)-proline has not been published.
