Summary: This study reports an improved direct access to red-emitting BOIMPY fluorophores, starting from easily available benzimidazole-2-carboxylic acids, which greatly enhances yields and saves costs, facilitating the synthesis of novel unsymmetrical BOIMPY motifs. As a result, the BOIMPY scaffolds derived from the BODIPY core become more accessible for applications as fluorophores at the appealing red edge of the visible spectrum.

Summary: This article describes a copper-catalyzed photoinduced [3+3] cycloaddition reaction of α-acidic isocyanides with 2,5-diaryltetrazoles. The reaction proceeded smoothly with high regioselectivity, affording a range of important 1,2,4-triazines under mild conditions. The obtained 1,2,4-triazines were easily converted into triazine alcohol, Weinreb amide, and triazinone, demonstrating the utility of this [3+3] cycloaddition process.

Summary: This study evaluated a novel N,N-bidentate TRAM-based ligand in Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reactions, showing promising activity as an alternative to traditional phosphine ligands. The in-situ generated complex of this ligand with CuI exhibited excellent activity in the cross-coupling of aryl bromides with 4-formylphenyl boronic acid, resulting in good yields of a pre-selected library of compounds.

Summary: A new PV array reconfiguration technique is proposed, which can be applied globally and involves rearranging PV modules diagonally within the smallest rectangle formed using squares. This technique aims to maximize power generation under partial shading conditions. Compared to existing methods, this approach significantly reduces the number of relocations and is applicable to a wide range of PV arrays.

Summary: A novel derivative of thiazolothiazole-bridged imidazole was discovered to exhibit blue fluorescence in gaseous state or in methanol and yellow fluorescence in solid state. The N-alkylation of imidazole sub-unit(s) generated highly water-soluble alkylated imidazolium salts with strong emission in solution. By replacing the counter-anion, the salts achieved strong emission and good water solubility in solid state and in solution, attributed to their twisted and rigid structures induced by interionic C-H···F hydrogen bonding.

Summary: This study explores the synthesis and spectroscopic characterizations of copper-oxygen adducts, which are key active species for the oxidation of C-H bonds in copper enzymes and their synthetic models. The results show that the reaction of dicopper(I) complexes with O2 leads to the formation of a peroxido species, while the reaction of these species with 2,4-di-tert-butyl-phenolate results in the formation of a C-C coupling product. In addition, the synthesis of dinuclear Cu(II) bis-mu-hydroxido complexes generates (CuCuIII)-Cu-II oxygen species.

Summary: We have reported an efficient copper-catalyzed dehydrogenation method for the synthesis of aroyl triazines from arylmethyl triazines using water as the sole oxidant and hydrogen as the by-product. Moderate to good yields were obtained using substrates with both electron-donating and electron-withdrawing groups. The use of liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry, O-18-labeled-water reactions, and hydrogen capture experiments confirmed the role of water as the oxygen donor. This oxidation strategy provides a new approach for synthesizing aroyl triazines with a wide range of substrates.
