Reaction of the Decaosmium Carbido Cluster [Os10(μ6-C)(CO)24]2-with Halostibines

Summary: The dianionic cluster [Os-10(mu(6)-C)(CO)(24)](2-) reacts with excess SbX(3) or p-tolylSbX(2) to form the monoanionic clusters [Os-10{mu(4)-Sb(p-tolyl)(n)X2-n}(mu(6)-C)(CO)(24)](-) via insertion into an Os-Os bond. Further insertion occurs when they are reacted further with excess iodine. The chemistry and structure of these clusters can be understood in terms of the isolobal analogy between [Sb(p-tolyl)(n)X2-n)](+) and I+.

Summary: Thermal activation of Ru-4(mu-H)(4)(CO)(12) results in the formation of substitution products 2a and 2b with diphenylvinylphosphine ligands terminally bound to ruthenium centers. The clusters retain their structural integrity at elevated temperatures and maintain the D2d symmetry of the parent cluster 1.

Photochemical reactions of dinuclear organometallic complexes with diphenyl dichalcogenides

Summary: This study found that the respective organometallic complexes can react with diphenyl dichalcogenides under visible light irradiation, resulting in the photocleavage of the metal-metal bond. The measurements of reaction rates indicate a preference of the organoruthenium radical for sulfur and the organomolybdenum radical for selenium.

Pyrrolidine-based C1-symmetric chiral transition metal complexes as catalysts in the asymmetric organic transformations

Geeta Devi Yadav, Pooja Chaudhary, Balaram Pani, Surendra Singh

Summary: Chiral transition metal complexes with privileged ligands are efficient catalysts for various asymmetric organic transformations. Transition metal complexes of C1-symmetric pyrrolidine-based ligands have been widely used in asymmetric organic reactions. However, a comprehensive review article on the transition metal complexes of chiral C1-symmetric pyrrolidine-based ligands derived from (L)-proline has not been published.
