Summary: Chiral, cationic NHC-iridium complexes have been introduced as catalysts for the intramolecular hydroamination reaction of unactivated aminoalkenes, showing high activity and selectivity. By eliminating a major deactivation pathway, the efficiency of the reaction is improved. Through experimental and computational studies, valuable insights into the reaction mechanism have been gained.

Summary: Here, we report an efficient one-pot iridium-catalyzed reductive hydroamination of terminal alkynes with amines, which allows for the formation of complex aliphatic amines. This transformation not only employs inexpensive and easily accessible HCO2H as the reducing agent, but also utilizes water as the reaction media, aligning with the principles of green and sustainable chemistry.

Summary: In this study, a simple strategy for the N-alkylation of 2-aminopyridines with 1,2-diketones using BF3 center dot OEt2 as a catalyst was reported. The reaction proceeds under aerobic conditions, leading to the formation of a diverse range of substituted secondary amines in good to excellent yields. Mechanistic investigation using spectroscopic techniques and computational study revealed the formation of an iminium-keto intermediate with the liberation of CO2.

Summary: In this study, a flexible platform for chiral phosphoric acid-catalyzed atroposelective dynamic kinetic resolution was reported using o-amidobiaryl as the substrate. The platform demonstrated excellent enantioselectivity control over substrates with different aromatic ring positions when reacted with ketomalonate in the presence of chiral phosphoric acid. Computational investigation highlighted the importance of the NH group in determining the enantioselectivity. Furthermore, the scaffold showed good efficacy in antiproliferative effects.

Summary: Asymmetric total synthesis of (-)-javaberine A and its epimer was successfully achieved using two methods, including asymmetric hydroamination of N-methyl-2-(2-styrylaryl)ethylamine and Bischler-Napieralski cyclization. The target compounds were obtained through multi-step reactions, providing the antipode and C14-epimer of natural javaberine A.

Summary: The dianionic cluster [Os-10(mu(6)-C)(CO)(24)](2-) reacts with excess SbX(3) or p-tolylSbX(2) to form the monoanionic clusters [Os-10{mu(4)-Sb(p-tolyl)(n)X2-n}(mu(6)-C)(CO)(24)](-) via insertion into an Os-Os bond. Further insertion occurs when they are reacted further with excess iodine. The chemistry and structure of these clusters can be understood in terms of the isolobal analogy between [Sb(p-tolyl)(n)X2-n)](+) and I+.

Summary: Chiral transition metal complexes with privileged ligands are efficient catalysts for various asymmetric organic transformations. Transition metal complexes of C1-symmetric pyrrolidine-based ligands have been widely used in asymmetric organic reactions. However, a comprehensive review article on the transition metal complexes of chiral C1-symmetric pyrrolidine-based ligands derived from (L)-proline has not been published.
