Summary: Three twin-carbazole-based hole-transporting materials were synthesized and employed in perovskite solar cells, showing different performance in power conversion efficiency. Among them, one HTM exhibited the best efficiency with lower synthetic cost compared to the commercial spiro-OMeTAD, demonstrating the potential of twin-carbazole moieties for enhanced charge transport properties in promising HTMs.

Summary: An optimized route was established for facile preparation of the hemi-benzothiazolecyanine dye MTR, and a self-immolative NIR probe MTR-HH was successfully designed and synthesized for detecting H2O2 with a remarkable 284-fold fluorescent enhancement. The probe showed great potential in visualizing endogenous H2O2 in living cells and mice.

Summary: Double branch (DB) dyes with acetylenic bonds as isolation groups exhibit enhanced light-harvesting capabilities and improved photovoltaic performance. Connecting two dye molecules to form a DB dye leads to higher efficiencies in Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), with a diyne unit as the isolation group showing even greater potential for achieving better photovoltaic performance.

Summary: In this study, a p-type thermoelectric conjugated polymer based on indacenodithiophene and benzothiadiazole was designed and synthesized by replacing normal aliphatic side chains with conjugated aromatic benzene substituents. The bulky substituent introduced on the polymer hindered the efficient transporting of charge carriers, resulting in lower conductivity compared to the polymers with aliphatic side chains. This highlights the crucial role of side chain modification in the rational design of high-performance thermoelectric polymers.

Summary: A new pyrene derivative was synthesized through Sonogashira coupling, which catalyzed the reductive desulfonylation of ethenyl sulfones under visible light irradiation. The citronellyloxy groups provided solubility and easy separation, making the catalyst efficient in column chromatography.

Summary: The chemoselective Sonogashira coupling between (trimethylsilyl)ethynyl and chlorophenyl groups on Ag(111) surface showed a high yield of up to 75%, while effectively suppressing competing reactions. Bond-resolved scanning tunneling microscopy/atomic force microscopy (STM/AFM) and DFT calculations revealed the formation mechanism of oligomers at different temperatures.

Summary: Chiral transition metal complexes with privileged ligands are efficient catalysts for various asymmetric organic transformations. Transition metal complexes of C1-symmetric pyrrolidine-based ligands have been widely used in asymmetric organic reactions. However, a comprehensive review article on the transition metal complexes of chiral C1-symmetric pyrrolidine-based ligands derived from (L)-proline has not been published.
