Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has led to an increased demand for telehealth appointments. A study conducted in a safety-net hospital in Chicago found that telehealth appointments had a higher attendance rate compared to in-person appointments. Patients with drug use history and unstable housing arrangements had lower attendance rates for in-person appointments. Telehealth as a modality is likely to continue due to its flexibility, but barriers need to be addressed.

Summary: The study found that illness perceptions related to timeline, personal control, and treatment control were negatively associated with medication adherence, while emotional response was positively associated. Significant other support was negatively associated with adherence, while family and friend support were not. This suggests that illness perceptions and social support play a significant role in medication adherence among HIV patients in Ghana.

Summary: Caregivers and providers showed a strong preference for oral dissolvable strips as a pediatric antiretroviral formulation, due to the ease of administration, especially for young children who cannot swallow tablets. Key preferences included pleasant taste, single strip per dose, small size with rapid dissolution, clear markings and instructions, and no special storage requirements. Stakeholders also preferred individually wrapped strips within a dispenser, with durable, waterproof, easy-to-open packaging. The findings highlight the importance of user-centered design in developing an acceptable and sustainable product.

Summary: In Mozambique, HIV infection remains a leading cause of adolescent mortality, with the population of adolescents living with vertically-acquired HIV growing. The study found that HIV-related secrecy prevails among ALHIV, requiring support from caregivers and healthcare providers. Adolescent-friendly services, including peer support, sexual and reproductive health services, and preparation for independent health management, are crucial for promoting ALHIV health.

Summary: Individuals living with HIV who report trauma exposure and PTSD symptoms may struggle with ART adherence. However, factors such as depression, substance use, and unstable housing may play a more significant role in influencing adherence than trauma and PTSD. Therefore, trauma-informed models of HIV care that address these co-occurring factors are essential for communities with HIV health disparities.

Summary: This review examined the effects of antidepressant medications on antiretroviral therapy (ART) adherence in HIV-positive individuals with diagnosed Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). The findings suggest that antidepressant treatment may improve adherence to HIV treatments and reduce missed HIV medication dosage. However, further studies are needed to explore the effects of different psychotropic agents on adherence behaviors among patients with HIV.

Summary: The study indicates that static telecytology is a prompt and valid method for acquiring a second opinion diagnosis in challenging thyroid fine-needle aspiration specimens. It can be integrated into daily workflow to ensure the accuracy of preoperative cytological diagnoses and contribute to continuous education and better understanding of cytomorphological criteria.

Summary: This systematic review aims to evaluate the most effective interventions, models, programs, and strategies to optimize the delivery of services for testing, linkage, treatment, and retention of children and adolescents living with HIV globally. The review will provide synthesized evidence to guide national governments and healthcare providers in prioritizing and adopting evidence-based service delivery approaches for this population.

Summary: This study evaluated the quality of systematic reviews (SRs) on HIV medication adherence and outcomes, finding that overall confidence in the results was critically low and there was underperformance across all quality domains. The study also concluded that impact factor of publishing journals did not correlate with review quality, suggesting that SRs may not always represent top-level evidence despite available evaluation tools and reporting guidance.

Summary: The study introduces a novel statistical approach, the Zero-inflation Bias Correction (ZIBC) method, to address the issue of excessive zeros in count data from clinical trials. This method helps correct bias in intervention effect estimates and performs well in correcting zero-inflation bias in most situations according to simulation studies and real data analyses.

Summary: This paper demonstrates the use of cognitive diagnosis models (CDMs) as an alternative approach to evaluating mental health problems in young adults. Using item-level data, CDMs can provide more meaningful estimates and profiles compared to existing methods, which focus on the overall severity of a mental health problem without considering specific symptoms.

Summary: This study introduces a new meta-analytic mediation analysis approach that overcomes the limitations of existing methods by using structural equation modeling in a one-stage estimation approach to analyze IPD. The results show that standalone personalized feedback interventions reduce alcohol-related problems by increasing the use of protective behavioral strategies, although the net-mediated effect across strategies was found to be small.

Summary: This study describes the process of selecting, adapting, and implementing narrative exposure therapy (NET) with an American Indian (AI) community. The adapted form of NET, which incorporated culturally mindful changes, was favorably received by the participants and showed improved retention and satisfaction ratings compared to previous trials of adapted trauma-focused treatments with this community. NET was determined to be an appropriate approach for this AI community and should be considered for other AI communities as well.
