Summary: This retrospective study analyzed clinical data of patients who underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) in our endoscopy center from January 2021 to December 2021. The EGD procedures were divided into three shifts based on the start time. The results showed that the lesion detection rate and endoscopy biopsy rate were significantly higher for procedures performed before 2:00 PM compared to those performed after 2:00 PM.

Summary: This study evaluated the clinical characteristics and efficacy of endoscopic techniques in the management of upper gastrointestinal lymphangioma. The results showed that endoscopic ultrasonography has important clinical value for the primary diagnosis of this disease, and endoscopic resection is a minimally invasive, safe, feasible, and effective therapeutic option.

Summary: This retrospective study analyzed the outcomes of GIST patients who underwent surgery over the past decade. The results showed that GISTs located in the stomach had a better prognosis compared to those in the intestine, and the use of tyrosine kinase inhibitors improved patient survival rates.

Summary: This study retrospectively analyzed FAAC patients and found a low overall survival rate. The immunophenotype of FAAC seems more similar to rectal-type mucosa. Tissue acquisition is crucial for early diagnosis and therapy, especially in long-standing, non-healing, IBD-associated fistulas.

Summary: The study evaluated 410 pediatric CD patients and found that 11.2% were asymptomatic, while 88.2% were symptomatic, with over half having both gastrointestinal and atypical symptoms. The ESPGHAN non-biopsy criteria are accurate for CD diagnosis and allow half of unnecessary EGD procedures to be avoided.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the characteristics, diagnosis, and management of pediatric upper gastrointestinal (UGI) perforations. According to the results, surgery for pediatric UGI perforations should be selected based on the patient's general status, age, duration from symptom onset, inflammation, and perforation site and size. Antibiotic administration and surgical closure remain the main strategies for pediatric UGI perforations.

Summary: This study analyzed the risk factors and clinical outcomes of hemorrhagic duodenal GISTs, revealing a higher incidence of bleeding compared to gastric GISTs. Age, tumor size, and mitotic count were identified as risk factors for overall survival. Duodenal GISTs have a higher rate of tumor bleeding and re-bleeding after endoscopic hemostasis than gastric GISTs.

Summary: Performing esophagogastroduodenoscopy in peri-coronary artery disease accident settings is a dilemma. This study evaluated the risk of coronary artery disease recurrence in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding who received EGD. The findings showed that an earlier EGD intervention within one week was associated with a lower risk of CAD recurrence.

Summary: Patients with COVID-19, including cancer children, are at risk of developing invasive pulmonary fungal infections. This retrospective study found that 10% of the patients diagnosed with COVID-19 had COVID-aspergillosis, and 10% had COVID-mucormycosis. The study also revealed a high mortality rate and breakthrough fungal infections in these patients, even when they were on antifungal prophylaxis.
