Summary: Data plays a critical role in machine learning, with mismatched datasets potentially leading to negative model behaviors and societal biases amplification. The World Economic Forum suggests documenting the origin, creation, and use of machine learning datasets to prevent discriminatory outcomes.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the relationship between prevalence of symptom documentation and intervention provision, and increasing severity of bothersome symptoms, as identified by guardians using guardian-reported proxy-SSPedi. The results showed that documentation and intervention were more common for some symptoms with increasing severity of bother, but intervention was not more common with increasing severity of bother for fatigue, changes in hunger, and anger.

Summary: This article examines a new approach adopted by a child care program to document and share daily activities of individual children using a Childcare Management Software (CMS) mobile app. Data from a survey revealed that the CMS app is effective in tracking children's developmental needs and communicating daily activities with parents, but highlights the need for training for efficient use.

Summary: This study aims to describe how nurses work within rehabilitation teams in hospital-based units. Through a scoping review, it was found that nurses play an essential but often overlooked role within rehabilitation teams. Nurses predominantly use relationship-based ad hoc communication strategies, which momentarily stabilize their rehabilitation practice. The study suggests reframing rehabilitation nursing and building the team's capacity to collaborate in the fluctuating environment of rehabilitation.

Summary: The study aimed to determine the frequency of mobility limitation documentation during visits with older adults, as well as the patient, physician, and practice characteristics associated with such documentation. It was found that the documentation of mobility limitations is generally inadequate and primarily occurs when there are significant changes in function.

Summary: This study aimed to examine the trajectories of persistent postconcussion symptoms (PPCS) after mild traumatic brain injury (MTBI) and investigate the factors associated with symptom reporting. The results showed a similar prevalence of moderate to severe PPCS in the MTBI group at 3 and 12 months post-injury. Individual trajectory analysis revealed considerable change in both symptom severity and total scores over time in the MTBI group. In addition, the presence of intracranial lesions was associated with a higher likelihood of improvement. Female gender and personal factors such as reduced employment, pain, poor sleep, low resilience, high neuroticism and pessimism, and a psychiatric history were associated with persistent symptoms. In conclusion, personal factors play an important role in the presence of persistent symptoms during the first year after MTBI.

Summary: This study examined the frequency of postacute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 (PASC) and factors associated with rehabilitation utilization. The results showed that patients with PASC had higher utilization of rehabilitation services and factors such as younger age, comorbidities, and male sex were significantly associated with rehabilitation utilization.

Summary: This study developed a VR application and conducted a user study on 32 subjects, finding that integrating game elements into a VR rehabilitation program significantly prolonged the rehabilitation duration. Additionally, participants who performed the rehabilitation program with others had a considerably longer rehabilitation duration.

Summary: This study developed and examined an observational measure of behavioral characteristics for youth with somatic symptom disorder (SSD). The measure, called the Somatization Behavioral Characteristics Questionnaire (SBCQ), showed good reliability and validity in both SSD and non-SSD groups. The SBCQ was able to differentiate between the two groups and may be useful in developing sensitive assessment tools for SSD.

Summary: This study developed and tested a quantitative stifle function score (SFS) for dogs with unilateral cranial cruciate ligament disease. The SFS was compared to a symmetry index (SI) calculated from ground reaction forces (GRFs). The results showed a strong correlation and agreement between the SFS and SI. The SFS may be a useful tool in monitoring the rehabilitation process following unilateral cranial cruciate ligament rupture.

Summary: This study presents a new approach to identify recovery-oriented rehabilitation language in clinical documentation and evaluates an intervention to improve language used in a rehabilitation team. The results showed an increase in the percentage of sentences with recovery-oriented rehabilitation terms after the intervention. The study suggests that brief interventions can affect the language of clinical documentation and automated text-analysis may be a promising approach for evaluating recovery-oriented rehabilitation language in mental health services.

Summary: This study systematically reviewed the effect of nutrition supplement on the rehabilitation of stroke patients and found that nutrition supplement did not have a significant impact on functional outcomes, disabilities, and laboratory results. However, it was found to improve activities of daily living (ADL) and reduce the incidence of infections for stroke patients.
