Summary: This study explored the relationship between nutritional status and activities of daily living in patients with Parkinson's disease. Results showed that poor nutritional status was significantly associated with a decline in activities of daily living. These findings could help in developing nutritional intervention programs to improve daily living activities for Parkinson's disease patients.

Summary: This study compares and contrasts the formation of abnormal behavior detection (ABD) systems in activities of daily living (ADL) using different input data types and modeling techniques. The study also addresses the lack of datasets in ABD in ADL and aims to guide new researchers in understanding the field and serve as a reference for future study in smart homes.

Summary: This study investigates the effectiveness of home-based interventions in improving the ability to perform basic activities of daily living in stroke patients. The results show that there is no significant difference between home-based intervention and institution-based intervention in the short-term. Similarly, there is no significant difference between home-based intervention and usual care in the long-term. However, home-based rehabilitation combined with usual care has a significant short-term effect on the ability to perform basic daily activities.

Summary: The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis is to evaluate the effectiveness of caregiver-mediated exercise interventions on basic and extended activities of daily living (ADL), anxiety, and depression among post-stroke rehabilitation individuals. The findings suggest that caregiver-mediated exercise interventions have beneficial impacts on basic ADL for stroke survivors, but no significant effects were found for extended ADL, anxiety, and depression.

Summary: This review aimed to identify the digital methods and metrics used to assess IADL-related behaviors in people with MCI and report any statistically significant differences in digital endpoints between MCI and normal aging and how these digital endpoints change over time. Ambient technology was the most commonly used digital method to assess IADL-related behaviors in the included studies, with passive infrared motion sensors and contact sensors being the most prevalent types. However, there were inconsistent findings around differences in digital IADL endpoints across the cognitive spectrum, with limited longitudinal assessment of how they changed over time.

Summary: This systematic review aims to provide an overview of the evidence concerning psychosocial work factors affecting the mental health of young workers. A total of 17 studies with a combined sample size of 35,600 young workers were included. The results indicate a high degree of uncertainty in the evidence due to conceptually fuzzy outcomes, exposures, and heterogeneity between studies. Only one association between psychosocial job quality and mental health was assessed as low certainty, while the certainty of evidence for the other eight associations was very low.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effects of mechanical stretching on human dermal fibroblast function and analyze the impact of different factors on fibroblast responsiveness. The results showed that mechanical strain did not affect fibroblast proliferation in neonatal fibroblasts, while adult fibroblasts showed increased proliferation. Collagen production was significantly increased in response to mechanical stimulation, with Vitamin C stimulation being the most important factor. Stretching frequency was positively associated with fibroblast proliferation and negatively associated with collagen production.

Summary: The number of childhood cancer survivors in Africa is increasing, but there is a lack of knowledge about late effects. This scoping review analyzed literature on the late effects of childhood cancer survivors in Africa. Sixty-eight studies were included, originating from 10 African countries. Physical late effects were described in 53 studies, while psychosocial late effects were mentioned in 17 studies. It is important for more countries to report on this topic to effectively prevent, identify, and monitor late effects.

The findings showed that nurses can play a crucial role in integrating and facilitating communication between patients and the multidisciplinary team, leading to increased patient awareness and ownership of treatment goals. However, there is a lack of interventions specifically designed to support the nursing role, highlighting a potential oversight in the rehabilitation community.

Summary: This study conducted a systematic literature review and meta-analysis to examine the expected and experienced implications of sharing Alzheimer's disease (AD) biomarker results with individuals without dementia. The results showed that most personal stakeholders expressed interest in biomarker assessment. Learning negative biomarker results led to relief and sometimes frustration, while positive biomarkers induced anxiety but also clarity. The meta-analysis revealed that sharing biomarker status did not have a significant short-term psychological impact.
