The novel perovskite-type oxyfluorides Ba-4 (-) 0.5xIn2Zr2O11 (-) F-x(x) (x <= 0.3) were synthesized and their structure (X-ray, infrared spectroscopy), thermal properties, hydration behavior and electrical properties have been investigated. These phases are capable of dissociative dissolution of water and can exhibit proton transport. Electrical conductivity were measured with varying Tin dry (pH(2)O = 4.5 . 10(-4) atm) and wet (pH(2)O = 1.42 . 10(-2) atm) atmospheres. It was established that small F--concentrations can improve proton conductivities. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
