Summary: This paper discusses the challenges of data transmission and routing protocol design in underwater sensor networks. By proposing the LEER protocol, the issues of route failure, long delay, and high energy consumption caused by greedy routing can be addressed. The LEER protocol improves the delivery rate and reduces the end-to-end delay by extracting and updating layer information to avoid routing packets to void areas.

Summary: Underwater sensor networks (UWSNs) have gained significant interest due to their effective monitoring capabilities in submerged environments. However, the limitations of underwater acoustic channels, including long delays and high error rates, pose challenges for the media access control (MAC) protocol. To address these issues, a MAC protocol with time synchronization and power control (TSPC) is proposed. The integration of TSPC with layered concepts and distributed clustering algorithms effectively reduces energy consumption and prevents communication collisions.

Summary: This paper introduces an indoor object tracking method using received signal strength indicator (RSSI) measurements and wireless sensor network (WSN). The author proposes a range-free radial basis function neural network (RBFN) and Kalman filtering (KF) based algorithm named RBFN+KF to reduce the location estimation errors caused by random variations in RSSI measurements. The simulation results show that the RBFN+KF algorithm achieves lower location estimation errors compared to trilateration, multilayer perceptron (MLP), and RBFN-based estimations. Additionally, it is also observed that the RBFN-based approach is more energy efficient than trilateration and MLP-based localization approaches.

Summary: This article proposes an open-closed-loop iterative learning control (ILC) strategy for linear time varying multiple input multiple output (MIMO) systems with vector relative degree, where the time interval of operation depends on the number of iterations. A feedback control is introduced in the ILC design to compensate for the missing tracking signal caused by the iteration-dependent interval. The study shows that under certain assumptions, the ILC tracking error can converge to zero as the number of iterations tends to infinity. Additionally, the effectiveness of the developed method is illustrated through a simulation example.
