Summary: This study investigated coagulation alterations in ACLF patients compared to AD patients, finding that ACLF patients had lower platelet count, longer INR and activated partial thrombin time. ROTEM results indicated a more pronounced hypocoagulable state in ACLF patients. No correlation was found between these alterations and bleeding complications.

Summary: Acute lung injury (ALI) following traumatic brain injury (TBI) can progress to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) with a high mortality rate. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have been identified as key mediators in TBI-induced ALI, potentially offering new insights for clinical treatment.

Summary: This study found that ulinastatin (UTI) can effectively reduce acute lung injury (ALI) induced by diabetic sepsis in rats by inhibiting inflammatory response, reducing oxidative stress, regulating hypoxia response pathway, and improving pulmonary microvascular permeability.

Summary: This study determined the prognostic implications of acute lung injury (ALI) and organizing pneumonia (OP) on lung recipient outcomes in relation to the timing of transplantation. Late ALI/OP was found to increase the risk of chronic lung allograft dysfunction or death/retransplantation by two to three times, while early ALI/OP did not show any association with these outcomes. Risk factors for late ALI/OP included grade 3 primary graft dysfunction, higher degree of donor/recipient human leukocyte antigen mismatch, bacterial or viral respiratory infection, and an early ALI/OP event.

Summary: Thrombin inhibition enhances the infiltration of anti-inflammatory cells and improves renal ischemia-reperfusion injury. In a transplant model, combined therapy of thrombin inhibition and regulatory T cell infusion leads to prolonged graft survival and reduced inflammation.

Summary: This study further explores the relationship between abacavir (ABC) use and thrombin generation through thrombin dynamics analysis, and finds that the association between ABC use and thrombin generation may be due to an increase in the prothrombin conversion pathway. In a cross-sectional study of 208 virally suppressed PLHIV, it is found that the total amount and maximum rate of prothrombin conversion are significantly increased in PLHIV on an ABC-containing regimen, indicating that ABC affects the kinetics of prothrombin conversion rather than procoagulant factor levels.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effect of lower-leg injury and knee arthroscopy on thrombin generation. The results showed that patients with lower-leg injury had increased thrombin generation compared to controls, whereas the levels remained similar in arthroscopy patients. This suggests that the pathogenesis of VTE may differ in these two situations.

Summary: This study revealed the active compounds, effective targets, and potential pharmacological mechanisms of Qing-Jin-Hua-Tan-Decoction (QJHTD) acting on acute lung injury (ALI). Pharmacological network analysis, molecular docking, and in vitro experiments were conducted on QJHTD, and the biological processes and signaling pathways in ALI were analyzed. The results showed that compounds such as baicalin and baicalein in QJHTD could bind to multiple targets, which might be the core components of QJHTD in treating ALI.

Summary: Acute Lung Injury (ALI) is a severe condition that leads to respiratory compromise and death in many patients. The inflammation and damage caused by the loss of endothelial barrier integrity, pneumocyte necrosis, and leukocyte recruitment contribute to the progression of ALI. In addition, pulmonary microvascular damage by bacteria or viruses further impairs lung function. Transcytosis, the transport of protein through caveolar vesicles, has been found to occur in the early phase of ALI and may play a role in the disease process. This article discusses the role of transcytosis in healthy and injured endothelium and the potential use of caveolar transport for delivering therapeutics to the lungs to prevent further injury or improve recovery.

Summary: High-altitude acute hypoxia is often associated with respiratory cardiovascular diseases. Inability to adapt to acute hypoxia may lead to cardiovascular dysfunction, lung injury, and even death. Therefore, understanding the molecular basis of adaptation to high-altitude acute hypoxia may reveal new therapeutic approaches to counteract the harmful consequences of hypoxia.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the effects of the platelet surface glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptor antagonist tirofiban on coagulation and fibrinolytic abnormalities in a mouse model of antibody-mediated transfusion-associated acute lung injury (ALI). The results showed that tirofiban decreased lung injury indices and improved survival rates in the mouse model. Furthermore, tirofiban significantly reduced coagulation and fibrinolytic abnormalities compared to the model group.
