Summary: This study examined the association between the method of induction of labor and perinatal outcomes in women undergoing labor after cesarean with no prior vaginal delivery. The results showed that all examined induction methods had similar outcomes in an unfavorable cervix, suggesting the need for individualized clinical practice.

Summary: Polish perinatal care is experiencing a high cesarean section rate, and clinician attitudes and experiences play a significant role in this. A study involving 748 Polish medical students found that midwifery students and final year students were more supportive of vaginal birth.

Summary: By comparing ultrasonographic and non-ultrasonographic factors from five hospitals in China, we developed and validated a prediction model for vaginal birth after cesarean delivery (VBAC). The model includes 8 validated factors and can accurately predict the success rate of trial of labor after cesarean (TOLAC).

Summary: The VBAC rate in Romania is low, with main complications including postpartum hemorrhage and uterine atony; common injuries post-VBAC in the country are cervical tear, labial fissure, and vaginal tear; lack of confidence in the healthcare system leads many women to opt for attempting TOLAC at home.

Summary: The use of midwifery continuity of care does not significantly increase the proportion of women with a previous caesarean section who plan to attempt a vaginal birth in their current pregnancy. The models of care had more similarities than differences, suggesting that continuity of care could be described as informational continuity.

Summary: This study aimed to validate the two models of Grobman nomogram (the antenatal model and the intrapartum model) for predicting successful intended VBAC in a Jordanian population. A retrospective study was conducted using data from women who opted for TOLAC between January 2014 and December 2020. The results showed that both models are valid in the Jordanian population, and adopting the antenatal model can lead to a higher rate of successful TOLAC.

Summary: The rate of cesarean section has increased worldwide, leading to concerns regarding mode of delivery in future pregnancies for women with a history of lower segment cesarean section. This paper aims to develop a clinical decision support system to evaluate the individualized likelihood mode of delivery for these women based on their unique characteristics. The study involved data pre-processing, feature selection, and the use of machine learning classifiers to build a prediction model. The results showed that imputing missing values and feature selection improved the efficiency of the model.

Summary: This study systematically reviewed the literature on the occurrence, etiology, and outcomes of vesicovaginal fistula (VVF), showing that VVF is mainly caused by gynecological surgery, obstructed labor, and cesarean section. Repair of fistula with vaginal or abdominal approach resulted in favorable outcomes in the majority of patients.

Summary: This study aimed to identify predictors for vaginal birth following balloon catheter induction of labor in women with one previous cesarean section and an unfavorable cervix. It found that fetal weight, BMI, and Bishop score after cervical ripening were associated with the chances of successful vaginal birth after cesarean delivery.

Summary: This meta-analysis aimed to determine the predictors of successful vaginal birth after previous cesarean section in Ethiopia. The study found that living in rural residence, history of previous spontaneous vaginal delivery, previous successful vaginal birth after previous cesarean section, history of stillbirth, cervical dilation of >=4 cm at admission, and spontaneous ruptured membranes at admission were independent determinants of successful vaginal birth after previous cesarean section.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the association between delivery mode and long-term educational outcomes of the children of pregnant individuals with a previous cesarean delivery. The study found that both vaginal birth after cesarean delivery and repeated vaginal birth were not associated with differences in educational outcomes.

Summary: In Poland, factors such as age, previous childbirth experiences, and anxiety were found to be correlated with high cesarean birth preference among low-risk pregnant women. The underlying reasons that drive birth preferences remain poorly understood, but women who have previously undergone difficult childbirth experiences and are afraid of pain require specialized care.
