Summary: The study aimed to analyze the growth of publications on genetic myopia through citation networks, identifying key research areas and most cited publications. A total of 721 publications were found with 2999 citations generated within the network, with 2019 being highlighted as a key year due to significant progress in the discovery of genetic loci associated with refractive errors and myopia. The most widely cited publication was a meta-analysis by Verhoeven et al. published in 2013. Three main research clusters were identified, focusing on heritability, retinal syndromes, and genetic factors related to myopia.

Summary: The European Journal of Medicinal Chemistry (EJMC) has been widely recognized and studied by researchers in the field. A bibliometric analysis was conducted to assess the scientific output and current status of EJMC from 1987 to 2022. The analysis identified the countries, institutions, authors, and literature with the highest impact, and used visualization networks to present the findings. The keyword co-occurrence analysis revealed a shift from phenotypic drug discovery to target-based drug discovery, and provided insights for researchers to define their research topics and directions. The focus of research in EJMC has shifted towards antitumor and oxidative stress-related drugs, with future studies focusing on tumor multidrug resistance, oxidative stress, and dual inhibitors.
