Personal factors and external factors were identified as key influencers, with external factors having a greater impact on the stability of empathy. Interventions targeting medium and low stability factors could potentially promote empathy development in the clinical setting.

Summary: This study examined the impact of empathy training on healthcare providers in Ethiopia through a cluster randomized controlled trial. The intervention had a medium effect size on the empathy level of healthcare providers, but there was a decreasing trend in empathy scores over the follow-up period. To enhance and sustain empathy, continuous empathy training and integration into educational and training curricula are necessary.

Summary: This study aims to explore the influence of sense of humor and empathy on interpersonal adaptation. Through the evaluation and analysis of 309 remote university students, it was found that both sense of humor and empathy were significantly positively correlated with interpersonal adaptation, especially emotional empathy. Emotional empathy had a significant explanatory power on interpersonal adaptation, indicating the importance of emotional attributes in studying humor and interpersonal adaptation.

Summary: Different parenting styles experienced in childhood and adolescence have varied effects on the empathy among offenders. Parental care and control factors are more strongly associated with empathy compared to parental encouragement, and the consistency of parenting styles plays a role in predicting cognitive and affective empathy. The findings suggest the importance of monitoring measures or policies to enhance parenting styles for better empathy outcomes among offenders.

Summary: This study explores the relationship between human-dog attachment, empathy, and human quality of life. The findings indicate that attachment to dogs and concerns for empathy have a significant double-mediation effect on human quality of life. However, cognitive empathy does not show a significant effect. The study highlights the importance of attachment and empathy towards dogs in enhancing the quality of life of both humans and dogs and suggests a shift in perceiving dogs as independent individuals. Future research should focus on affective empathy to improve relationships and the quality of life of both humans and dogs.
