Serum autoantibodyome reveals that healthy individuals share common autoantibodies

Summary: Autoantibodies are found in both autoimmune disease and cancer, as well as in healthy individuals. Through a meta-analysis of multiple datasets, we identified 77 common autoantibodies in healthy individuals. These autoantibodies are not affected by gender, but increase in number with age and plateau around adolescence. Bioinformatics analysis revealed potential molecular mimicry peptides that may contribute to the development of these autoantibodies. Common autoantigens are enriched in intrinsic properties of proteins and have specific subcellular localization and tissue expression patterns.

Analysis of Host-Bacteria Protein Interactions Reveals Conserved Domains and Motifs That Mediate Fundamental Infection Pathways

Summary: Adhesion and colonization of host cells by pathogenic bacteria rely on protein-protein interactions (PPIs). This study developed a filtering process to obtain a reliable list of domains and motifs participating in PPIs between bacteria and human cells. Structural analysis revealed that human proteins involved in these interactions are rich in alpha helix and disordered regions. The most significant domain-domain interactions were validated, but verifying domain-motif interactions was more challenging. Post-translational modifications, especially phosphorylation, also play a role in these interactions.

Transport Pathways That Contribute to the Cellular Distribution of Phosphatidylserine

Summary: The distribution of PS within cellular membranes is controlled by a variety of factors, including PS biosynthesis enzymes, lipid transfer proteins, and lipid flippases. The enrichment of PS in specific compartments requires energy input, and PS transfer may be achieved by passive flow. The presence of lateral PS nanodomains can alter the steepness or direction of PS gradients between different compartments.

Summary: Genome-wide association studies have identified thousands of susceptibility loci for immune-mediated diseases. Using genomic structural equation modeling and single-cell eQTL analysis, this study reveals three distinct genetic groups of immune diseases that converge on T cell activation and signaling pathways, suggesting potential drug repurposing candidates.

Summary: The poor translatability between preclinical and clinical drug trials has limited pro-cognitive therapeutic development. Future pro-cognitive drug trials should use translatable cross-species cognitive tasks with biomarkers relevant to specific cognitive constructs and sensitive to drug treatment. The study found that dextroamphetamine (d-amp) affected both behavioral and neurophysiological measures of cognitive control elements.

Multiomic analysis of cohesin reveals that ZBTB transcription factors contribute to chromatin interactions

Summary: Proteomic profiling identified ZBTB21 as a transcription factor that contributes to the chromatin binding and transcriptional repression of cohesin in 3D chromatin structures. Other ZBTB factors also interact with cohesin, and double degradation of ZBTB21 and ZBTB7B leads to a further decrease in cohesin chromatin occupancy.

Summary: Chen et al. conducted single-cell analysis to identify transcriptomic remodeling in various cell types that regulate prostate cancer progression. Their study also revealed promiscuous KLK3 expression and the ability of cancer cells to alter T-cell transcriptomes.

Summary: This study analyzed the subcellular localization and potential interactors of the Arabidopsis thaliana glycine-rich domain protein 2 (AtGRDP2). Furthermore, heterodimeric interactions between AtGRDP2 and specific proteins were observed in different compartments, suggesting the involvement of AtGRDP2 in post-transcriptional processes.

The main hub nodes in the protein-protein interaction (PPI) network included fibronectin 1, major histocompatibility complex, and heat shock proteins, which may play roles in the pathogenesis of AATR.

GATA3 maintains the quiescent state of cochlear supporting cells by regulating p27kip1

Summary: In this study, the role of GATA3 in supporting cells (SCs) of the neonatal mouse cochlea was investigated. It was found that GATA3 is essential for maintaining the quiescent state of cochlear SCs by regulating cell proliferation and the cell cycle. Additionally, loss of GATA3 function led to changes in the expression of genes crucial for the development and function of cochlear SCs.
