Eleuthesides and their analogs: VIII. Preparation of menthane derivatives from levoglucosenone and (2E,4E)-6-methylhepta-2,4-dienyl acetate by Diels-Alder reaction

Synthesis of chiral functionalized menthane derivatives was carried out by Diels-Alder reaction from levoglucosenone and (2E,4E)-6-methylhepta-2,4-dienyl acetate.In extension of research [1] on development of preparation methods for polyfunctional menthane derivatives we explored the possibility of an isopropyl group direct introduction in the course of Diels-Alder reaction.
