Summary: Incorporating chemically reactive groups and PEO segments into polyurethanes as binders for silicon anodes in lithium ion batteries successfully addresses the volume change issue during lithiation/delithiation cycles. The multiple interactions and crosslinked structure contribute to stabilizing the anode materials, while PEO segments enhance ion conductivity. The designed multi-functional binders demonstrate high specific capacity, capacity retention, and improved morphological stability, showcasing a successful strategy for silicon anode design and preparation.

Summary: Amorphous glassy perfluorinated polymers possess high gas permeability, chemical inertness, thermal stability, and superior separation performance, particularly when copolymerized with perfluoro(butenyl vinyl ether) (PBVE) and perfluoro(2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxole) (PDD) at different ratios. Higher PBVE content results in lower gas permeability and higher selectivity. The copolymers show promising separation performance at high temperatures and exhibit increased H-2/CO2 selectivity with temperature.

Summary: The behavior of some derivatives of Meldrum's acid with mono- and biazanucleophiles was studied, resulting in the synthesis of aromatic oximes, thiosemicarbazones and hydrazones. The structures of the compounds obtained were confirmed based on H-1, C-13 NMR spectroscopy data and elemental analysis. Contrary to the common mechanism presented in the periodicals, no formation of N-heterocyclic systems was observed under the selected conditions.

Summary: A new and cost-effective spectroscopic assay has been developed for the quantification of Colistin Sulfate and its prodrug colistimethate sodium. The assay relies on the reaction of the drugs with specific reagents to generate a fluorescent product, allowing for the measurement of drug concentrations. The method has been validated and can be used to evaluate commercial products containing the studied drugs, with the addition of a content uniformity testing step.

Summary: This study found that sulfur groups in different sulfur compounds exhibit different behaviors during oxidation reactions, with some behaving independently and others influencing each other. The oxidation of conformationally constrained dithiane derivative also showed unique properties in the formation of different oxidation products. The exclusive formation of sulfones by permanganate is attributed to its special oxidation mechanism involving sulfur as both nucleophile and electrophilic moiety.

Summary: Seven lanthanide-based coordination compounds were synthesized with a ligand emitting in the blue region with a quantum yield near 12%. The structures of cerium and samarium were determined to be polymer chains, while the dysprosium compound was found to be mononuclear. Energy transfer from the ligand triplet state to the central atom was observed in Eu(III), Sm(III), and Tb(III) complexes, with characteristic metal ion bands in the emission spectra.

Summary: Unexpected bicyclization reactions of 1-aryl pyrazol-5-amines with 2,2-dihydroxyindene-1,3-dione have been developed, leading to the selective synthesis of 2,6-naphthyridines and pyrrolizines. The formation of 2,6-naphthyridines involves a special double [3 + 2 + 1] heteroannulation accompanied by direct CeC formation between two electrophilic sites of 2,2-dihydroxyindene-1,3-dione. On the other hand, pyrrolizines are obtained through a novel [3 + 2]/[4 + 1] heteroannulation with good yields. The mechanisms for the construction of these new heterocyclic skeletons are proposed.
