Summary: A total of 187 patients with adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD) were studied, revealing a 7.5% prevalence of neurological involvement. Common symptoms included fever, rash, liver dysfunction, arthralgia/arthritis, and lymphadenopathy. Treatment strategies mainly consisted of high-dose corticosteroids and immunosuppressive agents, with a 100% clinical remission rate.

Summary: Adult-onset Still's disease is a rare systemic autoinflammatory disease characterized by arthritis, spiking fever, skin rash, and elevated ferritin levels. Immune dysregulation plays a central role in the disease, involving pathogenic involvement of both arms of the immune system. Extensive research has led to a better understanding of AoSD and revolutionary advances in treatment.

Summary: This study aimed to develop a new diagnostic algorithm for adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD). By conducting a nationwide case-control study, six markers associated with AOSD diagnosis were identified and a diagnostic algorithm was developed to assist physicians in the diagnosis.

Summary: The study found that in patients with adult-onset Still's disease complicated by macrophage activation syndrome, levels of cytokines (IL-1, IL-6, IFN-gamma, etc.) and inflammatory markers (ferritin) were elevated. Analysis of circulating immune cells in MAS patients showed an increase in 'classical monocytes' and a reduction in total NK cells. A total of 3477 IFN-related genes were identified in AOSD synovial tissues.

Summary: Adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD), a rare autoinflammatory disorder, can lead to life-threatening complications during pregnancy. Limited data is available on the treatment of AOSD in pregnancy, despite the increasing use of biologic therapeutics. In this case report, a 23-year-old primigravid patient with AOSD was successfully treated with tocilizumab, an interleukin-6 receptor antagonist, to prevent AOSD flare during pregnancy. This highlights the potential effectiveness of tocilizumab in reducing the risk of AOSD flare in pregnant women.

Summary: This study investigated the role of neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) in the diagnosis of adult onset Still disease (AOSD) and its performance to improve the sensitivity of the classifications criteria. The results showed that NLR is a good biomarker of AOSD with high sensitivity and accuracy, and its addition to the classifications significantly improves their sensitivity and accuracy.

Summary: Adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD) is often underdiagnosed in low-middle-income countries. This study analyzed the characteristics of AOSD presented as fever of unknown origin (FUO) in India. The results showed that AOSD FUO typically presents with intermittent fever, arthralgia, hepatosplenomegaly, and high fever. However, early differentiation from other common diseases is difficult.

Summary: Glycosylated ferritin (GF) has been found to be a good diagnostic biomarker for adult-onset Still's disease (AOSD), with high diagnostic accuracy and specificity. Setting the GF threshold at 16% can increase the specificity and positive predictive value for AOSD diagnosis. GF is important for ruling out differential diagnoses and classifying AOSD in clinical trials.

Summary: The study found that AOSD-MAS patients have a higher mortality rate, with jaundice being associated with MAS occurrence and MAS and a WBC count >20x10(9)/L being highly correlated with AOSD-related death. In the AOSD-MAS group, transaminase, TGs, and SF were elevated in the early disease stage.

Summary: The study found that at least one-fifth of patients with AOSD experience relapses, with patients who initially had high disease severity being at a higher risk of relapse, warranting closer follow-up and intensified treatment.

Summary: This study found that AOSD patients and severe COVID-19 patients have significantly higher levels of galectins and cytokines compared to healthy controls. Active AOSD patients showed elevated IFN-gamma and IL-17A compared to healthy controls. IL-18 is a key discriminator between active AOSD and severe COVID-19.

Summary: Patients with AOSD with PPEs showed higher levels of lactate dehydrogenase and ferritin, lower levels of fibrinogen, and had a higher incidence and cumulative event rate for MAS compared to those with evanescent rashes. PPEs, elevated aspartate aminotransferase levels, and splenomegaly were independently associated with an increased risk of MAS in AOSD patients with skin involvement.

Summary: Adult onset Still's disease (AOSD) is a rare systemic autoinflammatory disease characterized by fever, arthritis, and skin rash, with joint involvement being a common clinical manifestation. The use of MRI in AOSD patients has shown synovitis as a common finding, with bone edema and MRI-bone erosions also observed. Synovial tissues in AOSD patients exhibit hyper-expression of interleukin and TNF pathways.
